I can't speak for all emulators, but the emulators I ported via gp2xmess can in no way leverage a separate processor which was a shame. The latest versions of MAME/MESS do support multithreading however but I doubt the latest versions (esp w/ the new rendering system) could run on *any*...
Wow this is cool. This could rejuvenate my desire to code again. gp3xmess?? :)
Here's my wishlist:
- Hardware volume control (no need for software control)
- Better control/stick/whatever
- Touch screen
- Keep SDL support
- Keep Linux
- Keep the emu friendly aspect ratio screen

As mentioned the source is not available for Visual Pinball (nor Future Pinball). Additionally, even if it were available, it is *very* tied to Microsoft technologies like COM and VBScript. Porting the application suite would take an enormous effort. I'd rather see the effort go into an open...
Exactly, I actually like the feel of the joystick itself. But it's response isn't very good at all. Glad I got the d-pad mod (although I only use it when I'm stuck in the car currently, quick games of tilematch).

Bah, who bumped this April fools' joke? :)
Had me psyched for a minute there. Old age is setting in when I can't remember posts from a few months ago.

Autoduel is awesome. There is always playing it on VICE (C64). Also I have SDL compatible virtual keyboard support in gp2xmess. With minimal tweaking it could run in DosBox. The author is encouraged to use it.

Hi there,
I think that is worth trying. Although I've tried a bunch of different ports (going forward though, guess things get slower before they get faster). I ported to both xmess .106 and the latest SDLMess. Maybe I'll try going back a ways and see how it is.
I did improve the Apple ][...
Hi,
Good idea. Sounds like I would need some HW to do that though?
I know nothing about it but I imagine it would be easy to do software wise

I've updated gp2xmess again this time fixing a lot of core Odyssey 2 issues that are present in MESS itself. Most banked carts run, collision detection is much better, all kinds of stuff. This code was submitted back to the MESS team and added so even non gp2x owners get to enjoy it! :) I...
Hiya gates,
Sorry to hear that it crashed for you. It's possible there is some other bug w/ gp2xmess somewhere. I will keep my eye out for it. did it happen to crash while using the virtual keyboard?

Ouch! I can relate. The last thing I want to do sometimes is code (not disk prob, but SI joint for me). Sitting is pretty painful.
Hope you feel better.
