Oh ok, cool. The bug is a memory overwrite and I'm trying to figure out how to fix it. Anything over 256 entries (or somewhere around there) get overwritten and causes a crash. I think remowilliams saw this also IIRC.
Not sure about the disk types, but maybe this page can be of help? I went...
Just out of curiosity do either of you have more than 256 files in the directory you select when it exits? I have found what seems to be a bug in the core xmess file manager code when there are more than 256 files in a directory. I'm debugging and fixing that right now. Someone had found this...
Man, this is exactly how I feel about this game. My fiancee plays some tooth puzzle game, and bejewelled and about 100 other puzzle games. I *despise* puzzle games, yet Tilematch is very appealling to me for some odd reason. A true testament to the work the miq01 has done. My theory is that...
Yeah that's pretty weird that it only happens with the coleco one. I will do some more testing. I am running firmware 1.10. I'm not sure what others are running that have successfully run the coleco emulation. You are the first report of not being able to run that was something other than...
Shouldn't matter. I statically link everything so as not to rely on what's on the system. It makes the binary slightly larger but means that I don't get emails about SDL not working, I bricked my gp2x playing Colecovision, etc, etc. ;)
I'll get back to you in a little bit about the coleco...
Hmm, my guess is that the emulator doesn't like the image you are trying to load. It's not very graceful about that unfortunately. I've sent you a PM...

I'll look into that, thanks for the info. I have some directories with a lot more than 235 files so that should help. :)
I think I may have seen this also although for me it was a crash. This is core xmess code, but I have already fixed a few things in there so I should be able to hunt this...
Now, that I've actually read the post carefully it seems that the BIOS is OK. To get at the file manger within gp2xmess, just press the left shoulder button. The file manager that comes up for the Atari 7800 is needed only because of the fact that xmess requires a cart inserted into this...
Hehe, someone is a mind reader. I haven't released a version w/ Tandy emulation but I have enabled it in the current build. So the next release will have Coco 1, 2, and 3 support as well as clock speed changing and a virtual keyboard.
What I'd like to know is how Greenchili knew that? :)...
Bah
Man did it bum me out to be in the 2nd to highest category. I just entered that category a few months ago. I'm 34. :(
I'd like to go back one please. ;)

Hmm, the joystick thing is just a message I print out when it fails to add a timer. You don't have to touch the joystick to see that. :)
I've sent you a PM

Yep, in a7800.gpe add that to the end of the first line. It captures all of the printed output of the program. My guess is that it doesn't like something and will hopefully spit out what that is. Make sure your editor preserves the line feeds or it won't run at all. Also, just want to double...
I think at some point what you described will end up happing modulo special cases. It's just right now we're sorta in the infancy of the gp2x's lifetime and people are getting up to speed.

Awesome, once I get that PM I'll test out the animal sounds, and in the meantime I'll work on music. :)
PS I downloaded the latest and played it, great job!

I don't believe it is although I've only tried it maybe on 10 or so games. At least I haven't had much luck with it. There may be a technique in there to read the first couple of bytes of the cart header and see but I usually just open files named .a0 w/ the option attach @ $A000.
Thanks for...
Hiya TelcoLou,
Cool you got Colecovision going. I just verified that Atari 7800 runs OK on my gp2x. My guess is that you don't have a compatible atari 7800 rom dump. Mine is 2439 bytes. Inside should be a file called 7800.rom that is 4096 (4k) bytes. If you could try that trick I told you...
Hi again miq01,
I spent tonight creating some bleepy/bloopy sound effects for the animals. Do you happen to have a build of your app that I could drop the sounds into to try out? I like the sounds individually but I'd like to see how they sound "in game". Make sure they work well together...
Python is a great first language. Very easy to learn. And even better is that it scales well with the experience of the programmer. As you get more experience you can do more advanced things. I love programming with python and do a lot of non-speed critical applications in it. There are...
Hi TelcoLou,
Hehe, awesome you got it going. You aren't a "retard" either, mess is one of the more complicated emulators out there since it supports so many different systems in one codebase.
Have fun!
