SoC Poll - What's most important for you?

If both versions are available some day, I agree with commander-beef that developers will concentrate on one of them, so software-wise they will probably be quite different products.

SoC Poll - What's most important for you?

I voted for x86, because obviously I personally have more interest in a mobile device that is fully x86 compatible (coming from the HP 200LX many years ago, and experiencing ARM-based devices always as kind of a compromise). However, reading this thread, I see there are also good reasons for...

8086tiny - PC XT emulator interesting for really old DOS games?

hmm, strange. 1.10 behaves the same now. So it must be something different. Found out now, what the problem was. I didn't start 8086tiny via the runme script (so skipping the important stty command). Bummer! Okay, now back to 1.11 again for packaging :-) Sorry for the noise.

8086tiny - PC XT emulator interesting for really old DOS games?

oh thanks, I didn't notice that. I let the Pandora sit over night with 8086tiny running. In the morning I still only saw the "FreeDOS" string, but when I hit Enter a few times, it kind of continued to boot, until the BIOS message about drive C: HD1 Pri... then it stopped again. WIll try 1.10...

8086tiny - PC XT emulator interesting for really old DOS games?

Hi Adrian, just packaging up 8086tiny for Pandora, but I thought it would be a good idea to use the latest version 1.11 of Feb 05. However, I compiled it and tried to run it, but it doesn't work. Stops at display of "FreeDOS_", then nothing.  I deleted the source of v 1.10, so I now don't...

8086tiny - PC XT emulator interesting for really old DOS games?

Hi Adrian, compliments for that great work! I hope to be able to do the PND-Packaging and uploading to the repo for Pandora within the next few days. Should not be a big deal. How did you get here, btw? Are you a Pandora owner, too, or did anybody tell you that your software has been ported...

8086tiny - PC XT emulator interesting for really old DOS games?

indeed. I don't have time to package it right now (will need to think about a good HDD image loading method, HDD image should be placed in appdata folder probably, and it may be good to have a configurable alternative location for it). But tomorrow in the evening maybe.

8086tiny - PC XT emulator interesting for really old DOS games?

Hi guys, although most of what it can do can probably also be done with DOSBox, but maybe this is interesting to someone: On Raspberry Pi: http://www.raspberrypi.org/archives/6008 Project homepage: http://www.megalith.co.uk/8086tiny/ When I have some time, I may try to compile and...

    Slackware for Pandora 14.0

I don't remember, which version it was, but I also started with Slackware (it was downloaded and copied to about 50 floppies by my brother back then). This must have been also about 20 years ago. What I remember is that installing that was much more fun than nowadays. :-)

DisplayLink external DVI/VGA display on SuperZaxxon firmware: Request for assistance

oh right. :-) I have so little time these days to follow the boards. It's a pity. But this is going to change again thanks to a new job. :-) About cube48's question about hotplug: DisplayLink is not hotpluggable (yet). At least not completely. You don't need to reboot the entire system on...

DisplayLink external DVI/VGA display on SuperZaxxon firmware: Request for assistance

On my system (SuperZaxxon 1.54, if I am not mistaken), DisplayLink works well: Plug in DL adapter (no matter if with or without a hub, BTW) --> screen turns green. Then log off --> Login screen appears on the external monitor Log in  --> Both screens are active; external DisplayLink...

    QT5?

Hi guys, the author of NoteCase Pro considers to change the GUI toolkit from GTK2 to QT5. He asked me, if there are QT5 packages available in the Pandora OS, so that NoteCase Pro will still run on the Pandora after such a "port" (it will be a rewrite of the application mainly). WIll this...

Pandora: Japan Promo Website. (Warning: It's beta)

HI ekianjo, nice page, really! I like the scrolling behavior and the arrow key navigation. However, I cannot read a word ;-) One detail, that I think nobody has catched yet (but I only skimmed all the responses quickly) The favicon of the page does not have anything to do with Pandora. Is...

hmc Hardware Hack #1: Keyboard LED Light

Stephane Hockenhull's hinge mod is much better than mine. :-) Much more elegant and it does nto destroy too much of the case, so it is reversible. By the way:  The keyboard light hack has an interesting side effect: If the light is not at full brightness (i.e. brightness value < 255, i.e. the...
