    Disable battery Charging

I set start_capacity 40 and stop_capacity 70 and rebooted, but the wall charger got the battery up to 90 (from 37) before I unplugged it. Then I plugged it in again and it kept charging, so neither capacity setting works. Is there something I'm missing?

Starting a preliminary GINGE compatibility spreadsheet

Wow, you cataloged almost 1000 GP2X homebrew! Is that everything from the gp2x.de archives? I've been meaning to set up Ruckage's games on my Pandora, I should do that this weekend. Cheers to you man, I hope you'll set up a nice place for exploring and reliving that awesome bit of history :)

    Release Dynamate, simple port.

Post your PXML, I'm sure people here can help. xmllint will probably find whatever's wrong: http://pandorawiki.org/PXML_specification#Validation

    Release Dynamate, simple port.

Works great, thanks for the port Hooka. I played a lot of the Willems Soft releases on the GP2X, Blockdude most of all :) By the way, you can add an icon to the PND by putting an <icon src="path/to/icon.png"/> tag inside the <application> block of the PXML, and also calling pnd_make.sh with -i...

    Captain Beef?

I've seen this line mentioned here a bunch, but I think there's something to be said about ports that are tailored to the hardware they run on, with a thoughtful interface that works well on a handheld with a small screen that's used on the go. You can't apt-get that from the Debian repos. I...

    Update Freeciv 2.6.0 - GTK2 client.

This is an unfortunate problem that affects many text-heavy ports that run at the native 800x480 resolution - the original games simply weren't designed for a 5" screen. This of course doesn't take away from the coolness of having them available in a portable format (especially since some people...

    Pandora's 5th birthday

Hard to believe it's been so long, time flies. A little later this year will also be the GP2X's 10th birthday!

    Pixels

Reminds me of the Raiders of the Lost Arcade Futurama episode! I need to re-watch the early seasons of that show, it's been too long...

Which Device(S) Do You Use And How Often?

I think Payback really pushes the GP2X to its limits, and Vektar too with smooth anti-aliased software graphics and OGG decoding on the 940 core. There is also the EgoBoo port that uses Gpu940 for rasterization, and of course many other games that make good use of the hardware without needing to...

    Release Firefox 38.0.1

Doesn't Firefox use its own trusted certificate store? In that case up to date ports are good from a security perspective. Thanks for all your work by the way! I used this when I was traveling earlier this year and it worked very well.

Still use your gp32? Gp2x? Wiz? Caanop? (Zodiac...)

I'm still around, just didn't have much time lately to spend on my homebrew games. I'm happy to hear you remember Sqdef! :)

    Release Warsow

Out of curiosity, what are those? OpenGL related?

Still use your gp32? Gp2x? Wiz? Caanop? (Zodiac...)

I have a Caanoo around to play Picodrive and Sphinx's ports of his GP2X games. My older Gameparks are stashed away safely to one day be picked up and developed for again (I have devkitARM and Open2X SDK backups!) Most of my favorite games are low-res 320x240, and despite Pandora's excellent...

Games that you HAD TO finish at some point

I have quite a few old PC games I want to finish, and the good news is that any device under the sun today plays them all very well :) Titus the Fox Prehistorik 1 & 2 Shadow Knights StarCraft original & Broodwar campaigns, without using cheats Heroes of Might and Magic 2 campaigns The Ur-Quan...

New Gaming Handheld in the works---Pascal.

That looks really cool, I hope it's not vaporware. I like my Pandora and the Pyra will no doubt be even better, but I mostly use it to play ports and homebrew games, like I did with my old Gamepark handhelds. I like Pascal's form factor, plus it means that all games will have to use the game...

Beta Announcing GLBasic 3D Platformer "Reggie World" for Pandora

I like how objects between the player and the camera fade out for better visibility, it's a nice touch that I haven't seen before (granted I didn't play many 3D games). It also seems to run smooth on what looks like an older Pandora model, great since that's what I have :) Can't wait to try...

    Old Face To Say Hello

I ran your PXML file through xmllint with the PXML schema (see this Pandora Wiki article for how to do this yourself), and it complained about empty <description> blocks on lines 10, 22, 26 and the extra <icon src="./assets/icon.png"/> on line 32. Hope this helps.

    Waiting For My Gp32

I found this GP2X unbricking guide by DJWillis a while back. Some of the comments there might be helpful too. Good luck!

Alien Complex Terror (Work In Progress) FPS game

Check out Octrees. They're a known technique to organize the world and objects into recursive subregions to speed up everything from rendering to collision detection.

Alien Complex Terror (Work In Progress) FPS game

Will keep an eye on this and try it out as soon as you release a build. The colors on that test map remind me of some of the Wolf3D levels :)
