For Sale: First Batch Pandora (Black 256MB CC Version)

I'm going to receive a replacement unit from Craig after EvilDragon receives the current one. If the new unit comes without any problems I'm probably going to keep it and be a little more active around the device. It's just that I always carry a fifteen inch laptop with me at school, which is...

RMA for cracked case and purple-tinted/artifacted LCD

Just got back from the post office and already send both Craig and EvilDragon the track and trace code for the package (via PM through the boards). It will be indexed at PostNL later today, probably somewhere around midnight. So that's when the package will be fully traceable. I've included a...

RMA for cracked case and purple-tinted/artifacted LCD

Well, that is a nice option too. Silver case and new nubs is a plus. As long as it has the new LCD cable inside I'm fully co-operating with this exchange. Maybe the new unit also has a better internal Wi-Fi, because mine was 80kB/s to 90Kb/s at the absolute max. All my hardware related Pandora...

Cracks in black CC version Pandora case: warranty after 18 months?

LOL! Now I'm forced to have my unit repaired. Not sure what I'll be doing after that. I was thinking of selling it because I'm not using it very much and could use the money for something else. Maybe this is some trickery to force me to stay in the Pandora scene.

RMA for cracked case and purple-tinted/artifacted LCD

In short: Placed order at Craig's store in September 2008 for a first batch Pandora. Received the unit in February 2011. The case developed small cracks over time, lost some paint, and now has the infamous purple tint and lots of artifacts after very light usage over 18 months. Still have...

For Sale: First Batch Pandora (Black 256MB CC Version)

Just having typed all this and having re-installed the firmware and then checking if everything works perfectly, I get a purple screen. You gotta be kidding me!! WTF!!

Cracks in black CC version Pandora case: warranty after 18 months?

Well, I'm going to sell mine. I don't use it very much and all the hassle with RMA is not worth it for me. Someone else will become quite happy with my Pandora, I'm quite sure of it. Edit: Just having put my Pandora on the trading boards and having re-installed the firmware and then checking...

For Sale: First Batch Pandora (Black 256MB CC Version)

Up for sale is a First Batch Pandora, which was originally shipped by Craig and received by me in February 2011. Personally I've waited over two and a half years for this device, after payment in September 2008. I'm selling the device because I'm not using it very much and it's probably better...

    skype on pandora

I'm one of those people that uses Skype for instant messaging and Skype-to-Skype calls. Never use it for VoIP calls, as I can use my home phone for telephone calls. Skype on Pandora would be a huge plus.

    skype on pandora

Maybe Skype itself can be contacted to ask how much it will cost to get a fully working application ported over to a PND? They could surely use the standard Linux code and port that over to a PND? Skype via Android might be another option. Don't know if that works.

Cracks in black CC version Pandora case: warranty after 18 months?

In the EU it's pretty normal to have two years warranty on any electronic device, so that's why I'm asking. Plus (if I remember correctly) someone from OpenPandora once said that they would be a little more gentle with warranty if either the case issue or the LCD cable issue happened. If the...

Cracks in black CC version Pandora case: warranty after 18 months?

A little while ago I noticed two small cracks in my black CC version case. One is located at the right speaker, and one is located at the point of the internal hinge. I'm afraid that at one point in the future this is going to cause some issues. Especially after hearing those "screen with purple...

    Pandora's Dynasty

Seeing it back made me laugh so hard. Had so much fun creating the video. The image quality is somewhat low by todays standards, because I used a Kodak Zi8 pocket video camera to record everything, and the parts from Clockwork Orange were from my personal DVD (so not in HD). Now I have a Sony...

    Pandora's Dynasty

The video was banned from YouTube because it featured visuals from Clockwork Orange and the theme song from Dynasty. It was on Dailymotion for a while, but I decided to reboot WootsonTV and raise the bar for all my videos. Some videos needed to disappear, and unfortunately this also included...

    5" screen (on a P2)

OLED will cause burn-in eventually. Seen it happen with my GP2X Wiz, but got it swapped for a completely new device. Be prepared to get a lot of units back if you use this, or better be clear about it when you sell these types of garbage screens.

256MB RAM Pandora (CC): Internal Wi-Fi Speed Below 100kB/s

Tried the two terminal commands just yet, but can still only get between 70 and 85kB/s at average. The Wi-Fi managed to peak at 95kB/s, what a glorious achievement! :P Seems my only option is to buy a mini Wi-Fi USB dongle. Can this achieve speeds of 150 to 300Mb/s (802.11n)?
