I noticed that too, that part that says So yes in your scenario, it really would be a deal breaker, i.e. have to submit for FCC. But I assume Pandora team/group could code in the firmware to force the machine into off when re-charging, thus not violating that rule.

Another interesting note, it's always cheaper to do both FCC, and CE testing at the same time, as many of the same tests cover both certifications (I've had multiple people at different certification companies tell me this.) Pandora doing just CE, then later on FCC, is likely going to be more...

Yes your likely right, as they see the product (some fake) from Asia with fake FCC logo(s), and they assume it all good. The problem likely occurs when they dont see a FCC logo on a device, as I assume Pandora team/group will not be placing a fake FCC on the unit. But who knows, since like...

Good find, if you digg deeper into the link you provided you can find the Exclusions list at http://ecfr.gpoaccess.gov/cgi/t/text/text-idx?c=ecfr&sid=5fe9f8b7e6a083ff28b0ae005ebc12aa&rgn=div8&view=text&node=47:1.0.1.1.3.10.225.2&idno=47 It does list "electronic games" in section "A" in the...

I hear they are very random, from 1 small package to 1 person, to large shipments to billion dollars companies. BTW The odds of them checking are unlikely though, an example would be the knocks off stuff sold at http://www.dealextreme.com/ and most all of that gets through.

I'm 99% sure about this now. The moment Pandora are shipped to US customers (with US address) these units should be FCC certified, regardless of what ED says (i.e. US reseller or not.) In a nutshell, the Pandoras shipped to US customers could be held up in customs, although chances of this are...

Curious who says this? I'm pretty sure that if a company/person took orders in, and then ship the electronic product to customers with US address, then the product has to go through FCC testing.

    Preventing More Delays (sd License)

"A license is required if your company is planning to make, have made, design, use, offer for sale, import or export any products supporting sd host" Yes that would be insane, I pretty sure (not 100%) that it applies only to manufacture and Dev people making the device to ship (import, export...

MWeston $1k a year are old prices, it's now minimum of $2k now. Maybe your thinking getting access to the SD specifications, which cost $1k. Has SD License been paid yet? As I don't see "OpenPandora Ltd." on http://www.sdcard.org/developers/about/mem...mpanies/general I know they update the...

    Preventing More Delays (sd License)

I've gotten a response. Bummer I still had to pay no matter what, it was worth checking anyways at least. QUOTE ... A HALA license is required if your company manufacturers a product that contains a SD host device. Mike Michael XXX License Administrator, SD-3C,LLC Miller, Kaplan, Arase &...
