Overclocking Test On An Cortex A8 Processor

A couple of the devboards have been run at OPP5, that's how they got to the 900mhz+ mark. They were stable as far as I remember. Overclocks around 700-800mhz on devboards seem to be on the default OPP3. OPP5 @ 1.4175v is a little close to the max, but it's within TI spec, and as far as I know...

Thoughts On "why Isn't Software Done"/'i Payed... I Ex

A little not exactly on topic, but I've just seen a post for this on Engadget, and with Linux drivers, the promise of a very large range, and price of $35 it doesn't look bad at all. I am wondering if the specs of Power Consumption: Transmit: around 380mA Receiver: around 250mA Means it will...

Prototype Impressions + Mupen64Plus With Loz: Ocarina Of Time

It's the same piece, but the plastic that slots in is black there but white in my DS Lite (disassembled and put a new case on to fix a hinge crack) DaveC posted the best picture of the Pandora hinge with this image: http://i.imgur.com/waKd8.jpg It would be nice if they were compatible, but in...

Prototype Impressions + Mupen64Plus With Loz: Ocarina Of Time

It's not much to do with the actual hinge that allows for it to be locked in a position. There is a mechanism attached to the bottom part of the case that slots into the hinge between the two halves http://www.consoleparts4u.co.uk/nintendo-ds-lite-barrel-hinge-pin-set-184-p.asp - I'm guessing...

Any Body Use A Psp To Run Emulators

There might be a thread around here about this.... http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?/topic/51882-sony-psp-to-play-retro-games/ What do you want to play? I don't have a PSP, but it's a game console and knowing the homebrew scene I assume if you get a PSP-2000 for cheap it will be better than...

    Need A Little Help

A dirt cheap VHS or DVD player should be able to take that input and put it on a TV with component, if that's what you want. You still need something like one of these http://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Console-Converter-monitor-1L9/dp/B000V58F9M/ref=pd_sim_MI_2 - And then get the red/white...

    Linux Os?

You'll need a webcam so you can prove that you are on a boat, because these days who just believes that? Luckily most will work with the Pandora. It will also help with all the troll/orc rp cybering.

    Linux Os?

If you really want to impress the ladies when you are on a boat, set the background to three wolf moon. You'll still need a good wifi connection or 3G for most of that stuff. Here is a list of open source games, many of which should be on the app store in time...

    Linux Os?

VNC and programs like StreamMyGame are the only way to get what you might be wanting, Windows accessibility on Pandora. I also see you have many interests and a lot of chans.

    R4 Ds Micro Sd Reader.

Wow guy, what an odd first post and picking this forum to ask in. You might want to be on Gbatemp.net . Those cheap micro sd card readers often go bad, if you didn't get the disk you might have a clone or something too. Most have a light though, does an LED on the reader light up when you plug...

    Sd Card Search

I have a 16gb from Patriot (From Newegg) and plan on getting another, they are great cards. $90 is too much for an SD card for me, only $35 for a 16GB (got mine for $20 due to some great sales last year). Sandisk has started shipping 64GB SDXC cards for $350...

    External Hard Drives

You can. Thumb drives will work, as will external drives with their own power source. 500mA is how much the USB port on the Pandora can supply but external drives that don't have their own power source draw more than this.

Should We Lock "q: Warranty At 800Mhz?"?

Actually this poll was created as a joke and reference to somebody suggesting there be a poll for the same purpose in the warranty thread. But the amount of Pandora-only culture here with two months, polls, 'confirmed,' ect. has been going much too far recently, to the point that I think people...

    Frying An Arm Chip

Those old ARM and other Palm CPUs were built with the 130 nanometer process, and they generated much more heat than the A8 does. It can't be compared. http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?/topic/49301-change-in-mhz-ratings/ - This thread has a lot of info on those power profiles. As does this...

    Frying An Arm Chip

There was conflicting information in the massive thread. What power profile does the Pandora operate on at 600mhz? A while ago there were plenty of posts about the power profiles. I believe they are all within spec but the higher you raise it, the shorter the life of the CPU. This might effect...

    What About A Ds Emulator?

You mean virtualization, executing the same code as the DS would on it's ARM CPUs on the Pandora's ARM rather than recompiling it. It's been discussed pretty thoroughly in some of the previous DS emulation threads (by Exophase most of the time)...
