    THE NUMBERS IMAGE THREAD!

This is to commemorate us hitting 1099 yesterday and the day before, which I believe is the new high water mark! (Seems we're back at 1098 now, so I'm cheating a little.)

    It could be we're there!

Thank you Michael, this is a promising update and an great yuletide gift. (Not as great as a finished Pyra would have been, of course, but very nice nonetheless!) If I remember correctly, the last time you had PCBs produced they took 2 weeks longer (or so) than expected. I was wondering if the...

    THE NUMBERS IMAGE THREAD!

1086? The numbers are really in the ditch. :( We really need good news of the progress of the new PCB layout / simulation / prototype production!

    Let's move the moulds!

Indeed. In other words, we never know about pre-orders that happened in the same hour as ED processed some cancellations, unless the net number of pre-orders increased that hour. Right. :) My comment was tangential to the discussion. Sorry about the confusion. Zwerg01 stated the number of...

    Let's move the moulds!

No, no additional source of information. 1091 is the current number of preorders. My numbers are a lower limit on the number of preorders there have been. That is, there have been at least 10 cancellations of 2 GB units and at least 148 cancellations of 4 GB units. These numbers obviously miss...

    Let's move the moulds!

Hmm... by my count there have been at least 37 orders for the 2 GB version and at least 1212 orders for the 4 GB. [Makes no difference to your point of course, just thought I would point that out.]

    Let's move the moulds!

Have you considered using force fields to fother the hull breaches in your Pandora? And if the new Greek company can't make the Pyra cases either, maybe we should have a force field instead of a case. No doubt the technology for that will be ready before the Pyra is. :P Although power drain...

    Analyzing 4GB RAM

Every pre-orderer who can read knows that they paid a downpayment towards a then-semi-hypothetical device that would (might) become available at some unstated future date. There's no reason to think our Pyras won't meet the pre-order terms when we are finally able to get them. :)

    Analyzing 4GB RAM

Not a chance! No clear definite progress has been made on the 4 GB problem and it seems that those who have the resources to work on it have very little time for it. It might be resolved this afternoon (there are still some things to be checked, or to finish checking, that would really take...

    Analyzing 4GB RAM

If it's true that carbon composites attenuate the signal significantly more than unreinforced case plastics (I'm sceptical that the difference is worth worrying about), this case design proposal would mean we'd have to point the bottom of our Pyras at the WiFi hot-spot. I suppose this would work...

    Analyzing 4GB RAM

Here text messages are automatically converted to MMS when they exceed 480 characters. (Or, if they contain even one "foreign" character, they get converted to MMS when they exceed 198 characters). That means almost every text message I've ever sent has been an MMS message because very little...

Seems there haven't been any updates lately on the itinerant keymats. Crossing the Pacific are they?

Should the frequency of the Pyra memory bus be so close to maximum for CL=7?

I don't think there's been any suggestion of overclocking. The memory chips in question support a much faster clock -- up to 800 MHz.

Should the frequency of the Pyra memory bus be so close to maximum for CL=7?

Hi Michael, With regard to recent postings on the kernel list, as follows: At 08:40 +0200 on Wednesday 2017-09-13, Matthijs van Duin wrote: > > We're running the memory bus at 532 MHz, i.e. tCK = 1.88 ns. At 06:03 +0200 on Monday 2017-09-18, Matthijs van Duin wrote: > > DDR3-1066 only has E...

I'm out of ideas for news-titles

I find it quite curious that some actually like and want animated GIFs! With most web pages, the first thing I do after they load is hit Shift-Escape to stop everything from wiggling about. If I didn't have a browser plug-in for this, I'm sure I would go quickly insane! I absolutely _hate_...
