Returning Caanoo To Dragonshop.de

Hi there,

I would have been a new user in this forum since I recently got a Caanoo console, along with two other friends, at Dragonbox.de online shop

However, we found the Caanoo is NOT what we were looking for: after a fast test, we found that:
-PicoDrive and DrSMS are unable to refresh screen at the correct rate, thus ruining smooth scroll in games. Try Alisia Dragoon against the real thing to see what I mean.
-Part of the screen is hidden by the console case. (LOL in this one)
-The included games don't work at all.
-HELP II button doesn't work in the console we tried (so we were unable to start a game).

SO we REALLY WANT to return those consoles to DragonShop, but we just CAN NOT, because the owner won't confirm our RMA, with number #000006.

So, do you guys know what the address is for Dragonshop??
If we get no address, we're sending them to the senden's address in our package and wait for the money. If we don't get the money back, then we'll taking legal actions and of course will talk about it in every retro-gaming forum in spanish and english.

regards

EDIT: we just tried one of the consoles, so the others are NEW-IN-BOX condition.

Thanks a lot for the info. Now I know where I have to send them.
I have written this "Evil Dragon" person to see if I can get an answer directly from him. If I don't I'll be sending the consoles on monday and I'll let him decide to give back our money or not.

You could sell them on EBay as well. Caanoo and Wiz units are going for a lot more than normal retail price since they've been discontinued. You could make a bit of a profit.

I don't want any profit: all I want is to get back my money, that's all.

you could be less harsh in the way you express.

it was actually your fault that you ordered a device you don't like. you could have informed yourself beforehand, all the problems you mention are well known.

there's really no need to threat with legal actions.

-Where does it say emulation on the Caanoo sucks big time bacause no one cared wbout refresh rate of the physical screen?

-Where does it say the included games wouldn't even load?

-Where does it say one of the console's HELP II button wouldn't work at all?

-Where does it say the phyisical screen is mounter UNDER part of the case, thus being hidden?

In the online shop, I don't see anything.

AND as of 01/10/2012, I haven't received nay RMA confirmation from the hop's order, nor has he answered the e-mails I sent last week.
So I have reasons to be annoyed: I could be losing money, along with two friends who I convinced to get the Caanoo.

1) Did anybody told you that all the emulators are a work of the community?

2) Change your SD card. Then they will work

3) In wich software) Try the button tester in the settings, if it does not work, it is defective

4) Come on! For 3-4 pixels!

@DJRoby4:

1) I know that. But there's no single mention anywhere on how BAD those emulators refresh is because they run on a screen with a different screen refresh rate than they output. There's no mention to that ANYWHERE.

2) No. The Caanoo games have some kind of DRM protection. Copying them to another SD won't make them run. That's a nonsense.

2)In ALL software I have tested. That includes the button testing utility built into the firmware (whose update process is the most annoying pile of poo I've ever seen, btw).
That console IS defective.

3)3-3 ROWS of pixels. That's 3*320 = 960 píxels. No way.

The consoles are on theor way back to the shop's owner. Now all I hope is that I can get our money back and forget about this GPH forever.

1) I find emulators to be nearly perfect

2) Yes, you can. It depends on the caanoo itself, not on the SD!

2b) So, if it's defective, you're unlucky, that's all :) Return it so!

4) Oh, come on... 960 on 76800...

1)Just because you can't tell perfectly-synced framerate and screen refresh from the inaccurate emulation the Caanoo has to offer, it doesn't mean it's perfect. For me, it's very irritating and unusable.

2)Of course: and I KNOW why those games wouldn't lauch. It's because they sent us a Caanoo with a card that DIDN'T belong to that Caanoo, so the games wouldn't lauch. I could have copied the contents of the SD to as many SD's as I wanted: they wouln't work because the SD was from a different console. They know what they've done.

2b)Returned. I don't want to see a Caanoo again in my entire life.

4)That's just illegal in europe: it's well over the limit of dead pixel per screen rate that's allowed here. The console shouln't even be sold.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to answer this thread. But it' done and I truly don't want any more Caanoo stuff.

I have said countless times in the past about the lack of V-Sync in PicoDrive and other emulators. No one seemed to understand the Caanoo to really get a lock on it's refresh rate to fix this. I found it to be closer to 50Hz though, so Having Pico drive run 50Hz games first, runs smoother than 60Hz games.

And yes, this was mentioned here, so there isn't "NO" information, it's there.
