Preorders Have Started.

Second-batcher here... just letting peeps know I'm not cancelling my pre-order of a great product 'cause of some ugly trolls :p

Peace & Pandora, right?

First-batcher here and it is only fair to let potential buyers hear both the negatives and positives.

Finally had enough of waiting and being ribbed by the wife for nearly 3 years. Sent cancellation email and very surprised to receive reply in 7 days. If anyone is thinking of emailing for a refund they should not listen to those saying that emails are not replied to.

Still need to wait for refund to be processed though.

Agreed. A goodbye post from a saddened (but decent) customer like you is actually way more negative than any 'pissdora troll' could ever be.
Still, this also means I'm one place forward in line! ;)

I placed my pre-order as well. This will be a worthy addition to my homebrew handheld console collection that already consists of the Caanoo, Wiz, GP2X, Dingoo and good ol' GP32 ;)

All I can say is... I was one of the first 200 pre-orders and I yesterday finished Super Mario 3 on the plane coiming home from London. No complaints here, except that I have yet to exploit the machine to its full potential! Although I did whip up a spreadsheet during the trip when my laptop power died...

Nice. Sucks having to fly to London to pick it up though.

While that is fine and true, there was no positive about is, just a "Don't even think about doing a preorder, they will just rip you off" which is just a wrong accusation.

NO one has been ripped off and while we had MANY issues (the current one with CC still ongoing), I'm doing anything I can to move the production to Germany and make it reliable and fast.

If he just said "Well, I ordered one 3 years ago, paid for it and didn't get it, I don't like that", that's something different.
But he basically warned people that we are scamming and won't deliver, and that simply is NOT true.

I just want to express my faith in ED and all the Pandora people....

I ordered April 2010, and have eagerly and patiently been waiting, I know others have waited much longer. During that time I have seen the difficulties they have faced and the problems they worked through.

They have done so with honor and good character.

If this was a scam they would have disappeared long ago.

Thanks ED and all for continuing to post progress reports.

I'm sure I'll be getting my new toy as soon as possible.

Update to my refund:

25/09/2011 Refund requested.
02/10/2011 Email reply received. Refund request acknowledged and will be processed as soon as possible.
26/10/2011 No refund yet, so sent email as a reminder.
27/10/2011 Pleasantly surprised to receive email reply and refund received in bank by Faster Payment.

Looks like they've finally managed to work through the email backlog, but it never really seemed as bad as everyone was suggesting in the first place.

I do feel kind of sorry for cancelling now after seeing my emails being replied to this promptly, but unfortunately you just never know what setbacks may lie waiting around the next corner for the Pandora. In a way it is probably better that us pre-orderers cancel since they could sell our Pandora for a premium instead of a loss together with having my money as an interest-free loan for all these years!

I ordered in Oct 2009 so am at the back of the queue and like LuvClub the wife has been on my back ever since for this "non-existent" item so she says but now things have moved on, I now have a newborn (hence reading the boards at 6am as I feed her!) and tend to agree that the money needs to be spent elsewhere. I requested a refund (sent to openpandorasales@gmail.com) on 28 Sep (just 3 days after LuvClub) but failed to hear back, I sent a reminder on 11 Oct and got nothing so asked emailed ED on the 19 Oct about Craig's email backlog...I've still heard nothing! I know the guys must be very busy which is why I being patient but it would be nice if there was some proper ticketing system in place or at least an automatic reply that your email has arrived and will be dealt with as at the moment its looks a little unprofessional and gives the trolls more to complain about. No malice here so will let people know truthfully when it progresses further.

Well ED is overloaded and can't help you with that at all anyway, if they now started to reply to emails again you could just send another one.

Wasn't expecting ED to help, just wondered if he knew what sort of backlog of emails they had. A third email has now sent to openpandorasales@gmail.com, will let you know how it goes.
