Hello,

Been looking forward to getting a wiz for ages now and I finally got one. Everything worked fine, emulators, PC connectivity, etc. until I messed about with it.

I installed the win2x frontend, while installing it sat on loading for 30 mins so i turned it off and on and it worked.

I then clicked the uninstall file (for win2x) and the screen went black. Nothing happened for 30 mins so I turned it off and on. It booted back to the standard wiz menu, but this time everything from the wiz was wiped. The in built games, my emulator (yes one :) ) my 4 snes games and everything else...gone. I still have all the menus there is just nothing in them.

I figured I could just plug it into my computer and put everything back on there, but not neither of my computers will recognise the wiz. The wiz recognises whent he USB is plugged into the computer, and I select Nand, but nothing comes up on the computer. the wiz even says "USB Connected".

Any ideas on how I can fix this? sorry if its long winded.

PS. I don't have an SD card yet, this was all done on the Nand.

Thanks!

When you get an sd card you can reflash the firmware and that should remedy your problem. Use a Standard sd card not hc, as these can cause problems while flashing, maybe even brick your Wiz.

Btw, never screw with the nand. Put everything on your sd card and you won't have any problems.

Some people have managed to flash with 16GB. I couldn't though. Mine is a 16GB class 6. I just got the quick flash of the logo, and then the screen turned black. Using a 2GB card worked fine for me though. Also, there is something about that you need to copy ALL the files from the firmware archive, not just those mentioned in the instructions... but search these forums, and you will find instructions.

Thanks for the advice, I went to the shop today and got a 2GB SD card (non HC) and used it to reinstall the firmware. Worked a treat so im good until I break it again lol!

You can use up to 32 Gb cards for the software, but use only 2 o 4 Gb cards to update. About win2x, has a good interface but is a bit risky, because you can brick your console if you update the firmware or uninstall it. You can use GMenu2x that is other good menu.
All you put in the NAND will be erased if you update the firmware, and writing there reduces the NAND life.
