LogoWormux.png

Have the mascots of your favorite free software titles battle it out in the Wormux arena using dynamite, grenades, baseball bats and other bazookas...

Exterminate your opponent in a 2D environment with toon-style scenery.

Each player controls the team of his choice (penguin, gnu, firefox, wilber,...) and must destroy his adversary using more or less casual weapons.

Although a minimum of strategy is required to vanquish, Wormux is pre-eminently a "convivial mass murder" game where, turn by turn, each member of each team attempts to produce a maximum of damage to his opponents.

Wormux is free (under GPL license) and free (no cash).

Ive played a 3v3 so far and its playable, may need a overclock. Online play appears to work, i can see servers, but at the time no one was on.
I may need to update the current version with a HOME directory change. This game is a bit new to me, so I need to get a handle more on how to use it. Enjoy

Interesting. :)
I was always a huge Fan of the Worms games, I give Wormux a try when I have my Pandora.
Does this Game have a good Single Player Mode (like Worms)? Would make sense in case of the Pandora. Or is it Multiplayer only?

Single player is decent, only issue is that it keeps blowing me away, hope i can find a AI option cause it hits on target pretty much on the first shot.

Thanks for this but hedgewars is a lot more advanced: more modes, more weapons, online play, better physics. This will be good until we can get hedgewars though.

This looks fabulous - and they FINALLY implemented single player mode! Awesome! Echoes on the intelligence option, though - I sometimes just want to bully the computer from time to time!

I'm sorry to report that, for me at least, this is unplayably slow, and a touch on the buggy side... the menu et al works wonderfully, but the game itself freezes initially (though it recovers if you hit esc and then go back to play - not sure why), and then once it has recovered feels very very laggy indeed - and this with both the layered backgrounds option and wind particles turned off in the options. Albeit with fullscreen turned on and the resolution upped to native 800x480, and at default clockspeed.

Overclocked, I haven't tried - it might be a little more fun at 800, I imagine :) . Anyone had any more luck than I? Still hoping this ends up working nicely, if it's not just a settings issue for me - looks like a really nice offering once it's running more smoothly.

I think you two read too much into my post... I've been on the boards a long time and I know Pickle has done tons of work on the pandora. I was simply stating my preference of the two major worms clones. Incase it was missed the first time... Thanks Pickle :)

... of course ;) I was just joking  !

I'm sure no one here will ever dare to criticize or not fully appreciate the work/effort of 'master' Pickle as well as the one of the other talented developers helping us to make our dreams come true ;) !

Cheers :)

The Pandora should handle some tiny 2D sprites and a Background without problems. Is the core game not optimized enough or is there to many Physics calculations/ float point inside?

i play it using 800*480 resolution and desactivated the wind particles (heavy demandingon some map) with max FPS to 30 and the game is playing realy great.
My big problem is the mouse pointer using the touchscreen are decalibrated some time after some mascots but the cursor move great in menu.
Other minor problemis the language not working, i can only play it in english.
