This is just a quick hack for me to test how to make pandora software but this is still quite useful.

Read the description for details.

edit: argh the title needs to be sd card SPEED fixer. doh.

This needs more description and should be in beta testing. Has this been properly approved by OPT?

No and no :)

What it does is explained very clearly. The method it employs is very safe and you can use it to restore to the old behavior if you need to.

All it does really is remove the sync option from the mount script.

This is being posted from the patched Pandora. The speed gains are well worth it (especially if you like to download), I get my full class 4 speed on my sd card.

Oh, I see :) It sounded like flashpoint/flashfire at first. So I suppose it's just a script put inside a PND?

edit:
It might be worth moving this thread to Software hacking, imo.

Yes. That's why it's so small as well :D

^ The sync option has proven to be causing a few headaches so I think mawler is heading in the right direction.
But this is a serious modification, so take care.

Heh - in fact, we were thinking about this ourself for the next Hotfix ;)

On the GP2X, this was problematic, as you saved your game and then shut off the device (hard shut off) so savegames were lost.

However, a Pandora will almost always be shutdown properly - so this is not really a problem.
It's only a problem removing the cards immediately after saving, but we'll probably make it configurable so the user can decide to either use it with sync or without sync :)

In the next hotfix could you also make sure the usb otg port is set to something usable? min appears as a CDC composite gadget, which is.. nothing really... (or a mix of things).

but that would need a proprietary driver...

switch it to be ethernet something? then surely my windows 7 would find drivers for it.'
edit: dotn forget chromium and wicd? :]

We though of that at some point, adding sync to pnd_run.sh - but with all that unmounting, it might even be implicit *shrug*

Oops. My bad. Tiny update uploading. Need to make the script executable.

While the file updates you can get it here. Just run it again and it will fix it.

after i installed this all of my pnds do not work, they are all on my sd and dont apear in the list untill i use file browser then they apear in the list but none of them run, this is after i used that updated version, before i used the updated version my pnds worked but i still had to use file browser before they would apear in the list, now what ?

trying to run them via pndrun does nothing.

Right click on the drive icon and select 'mount'.

This causes my Exaile media player to stop working. When I try to open a mp3 in it, it says "Connection Refused". Works with mplayer though. I like the results so far B)

Anecdotal, so take with a grain of salt, but I seem to recall having umount fail with some kind of "run sync to fix this" errors. And then running sync allowed me to umount the drive. But that was a while ago, so I may be misremembering.
If nothing else, running sync doesn't hurt anything.
