Amiga Emulation?

Hi,

I've been lurking on this forum for a couple of weeks, having a good old read, watching you lot get excited about the Pandora, and I have to say I'm getting intrigued :)

Anyway - has anyone had chance to have a really good go at the Amiga emulation? I was an Amiga Fanboy in the 1990s (and bought an A1200 again last year ;)) so I'm especially keen on seeing how this works out.

There's an amiga emulator already available on the Pandora Appstore, however if memory serves it was a quick port that runs quite nicely. Have a quick search around the forum and you should be able to pull it up.

Like most other projects for Pandora, this is likely to change, for the better. As the hardware gets into the right people's hands, amazing things are going to happen. I wouldn't be suprised if we see fullspeed Amiga with ALL the bells and whistles very soon, there's certainly demand for it, myself included!

Played on it today, it's full speed but things like the keyboard need to be mapped to it. Will be amazing when that's done.

When I tried yesterday, the Amiga emulator wasn't even a PND file. It might need uploading again.

It's a zip file. You need to extract the contents to a directory on the SD Card and run the uaeforall file.

Mind you, once I got it going, I wasn't even able to navigate the menu to get anything running :(

It has no PND inside, just a directory of files.

Yeah, it's not been packaged into a PND yet. One of those files is the executable you need to run. Someone will no doubt package it into a PND soon.
This is part of what I think they meant when EvilDragon said a lot of apps weren't ready for user consumption.

Yes. I just thought this was an accident, as the App Store was only for PND files?

It supports zips too, but I'd hope authors would update to PNDs as soon as possible.

I think the app store should have a small icon or piece or text to indicate what format apps are in. So for example, a small icon that says 'PND' so I know what I'm downloading?

that would be neat
a .pnd icon, for use on windows/linux/mac as well.
Got one, but it's quite ugly…

Nice but when sized down to icon resolution, the PND text would be unreadable. Instead, swap the PND text and the Pandora logo. Add a small gradient effect to the icon and it's good, methinks. ^^

It would be trivial to turn an existing working executable into a pnd-file; take me all of 5 minutes ;)

IS this executable any good? url for it?

If its worth converting, I'll do it; pm me to remind me tomorrow when I'm elsehwere..
