Yo Mods, Checked Ip Bans?

Maybe we could switch to Open Handhelds until this is sorted out (maybe?)
That might or might not work, depending on what the actual problem is - remember, the forums are hosted on the same server that the OpenHandhelds board would be. If Craig would be able to post to OpenHandhelds, he should also be able to post to the official blog, which is also on the same server.

I can't answer these questions, I'm not a the Doctor.
*FIXED

If its not the site it could be his ISP, my ISP has a f'ing inline proxy which can get screwed up e.g. something getting stuck in the cache. Because its inline you cant get around it by using a different proxy (except website-based proxies of course). But the fact The Doctor ;) said he thought it was the site blocking him, means it probably is. He does seem to know a thing or two.

if its an inline proxy, wouldnt a VPN work to bypass it? since a vpn is an encrypted tunnel, unless im mistaken, the inline wouldnt even be able to see whats in it to block it.

What about just Tor? It takes about two minutes to download and install a portable Tor browser, and the network's getting faster all the time...

well, my vpn is fullspeed, so compared to tor...

Tor is still insanely slow

But it would be able to notice the port number, and attempt to transparently proxy the connection, assuming it's web traffic. Some don't care about the contents.

A VPN tunnel operates a single encrypted connection over a single port (eg. 1194 for OpenVPN) to move all the network traffic. So (from the proxy POV) what port is there to notice or what could it modify without being detected?

This was established earlier this week..

Craig ran with Pandora parts to make the ZUNEDORA with Microsoft.

i have my own html proxy set up and it seems to work with gp32x.de (in fact i'm using it now) but i've never tried to use it outside my own network. i'll try it using my schools network and see if it works from there. if it does i would gladly let Craig use it for as long as it's needed.
i'm not really sure how an inline proxy works but if it blocks by ports it may block squid 3's default port. if so and if i'm not mistaken i could change the port used by squid to something a bit less conspicuous and get it to work.
(Linux noob talking here so forgive me if i'm wrong)

well it works. i'm on the schools network right now and running my connection through my proxy server. i can go to sites that were blocked by openDNS like deviantart but sites that are being blocked by check point are inaccessible (should be able to get around that as well with not much work).
if this will help i'd still be glad to let Craig use it

Why can't he just plug a 3G dongle into a MP pandora and share the joy from there?

Maybe he doesn't have a plan that supports a 3G dongle.

Nope, no IP bans. My server doesn't ban anyone, and Craig doesn't even reach the server.
He somehow gets blocked inbetween. He can't reach ANY site I have on that server.

Will be fixed once we move to the new one, since the sites on the new one do work for him.

Yeah, asked him to do this yesterday, but didn't get a reply yet.
Guess they're busy doing something else ;)
