It's actually already upgraded. For free, for us! You'll get a news email and probably a blog post soon to confirm.

Proof: http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?showtopic=45019
Yeah it's great news that it's upgraded. But I don't see anywhere that it is for free. Anybody could elaborate on that? (I'm willing to pay BTW, the dev team really deserves a nice profit margin here IMHO, I already bought 3 * dev support).
As others have said, it is free, but it is being given free to offset the potential bank problems and also to enable them to compete in the UMPC type market. The downside is that they wont make any profit from the first batch. There are various posts with snippets, so it is easiest to search craigix's post.
Cosurgi, you have missed all the excitement and hundreds of posts in the last couple of days.

yeah, I see. I was away from internet for a few days (a nice experience, I tell you ;) )

I still don't see why some people might need to get refund'n'pay again - isn't it possible for Craig to make a simple money transfer (of all his cash) between the old and new bank account?

I think the concern is that the bank is freaking out about thousands of CC orders they are processing and is concerned that it might be a scam, so while they gladly took it from the payers account, they aren't letting Craig use it like he needs to. I'm sure that will include moving the money to another account. They will probably only refund the money... This is just conjecture though...

Port of Kingpin 3D Shooter 1999 game will be possible now :)
lol yeah I loved that game

Is source available for kingpin? It would be a great port to have but I couldn't find source code during my quick googling.

is this what you are talking about?
http://www.planetkingpin.com/kpcoop/download.html
QUOTE

Download Sourcecode ( < 1.0 MB )
Download Sourcecode from Speakeasy Mirror

Windows (95/98/ME/NT/2000) and Linux users should grab the first link (it has an so and a dll).

Make a "Coop" sub-directory under your kingpin directory and unzip the files there.

The first step in playing is to start up a dedicated server. And then connect to that server with a client (note: you can run the clinet on the same machine as the server so long as you start the server first!)

You are welcome to download the source code and use it to develop a mod.

1 MB for source code doesnt sound right for that game... its probably just for mods.

The game doesnt sound good either :/

....

I hope we get an update on this by craigx today... the bank stuff is a pretty big deal despite that awesome upgrade.

This should go to the "Pandora Now Has 256mb Of Ram And 512mb Internal Nand Storage, Confirmed by Craigix" thread alas it is closed. BTW, I've never participated in such heavily moderated forum as this one before :) But true I've also never seen so much hystery too, must be the long waiting :)

Anyway, I was alway curious about the price difference between 128MB and 256 version and here it is (posted recently to beagleboard mailing list)

http://www.digikey.com/scripts/US/DKSUS.dl...ame=557-1435-ND
http://www.digikey.com/scripts/US/DKSUS.dl...ame=557-1436-ND

So the difference for QTY>250 is $8.63 :)

I am happy they made such decision. It would be bad to have 'crippled' hardware just because of saving $9. Many, many thanks.

Interestingly, the second batch devices will be $339(pre-order price was $330) ;)

Will Doom 3 mods work? I mean Doom 3 as a game wasn't that good, so other than the "It works! cool!" effect, there are some nice mods around that are much better than ID's game.
You can't be serious, there's no way the Pandora could even think about running Doom 3.

I'd say it's very possible...

And I enjoyed both Doom 3 and Quake 4, the core gameplay is basically the old games with new graphics (just how it should be) :)

Also, Nexuiz is the sexiest multiplayer FPS. Definitely want to see some of that.

I agree :)
Quake was my first 3D FPS(well, it was the first real 3D FPS, actually) and I still like the dark dungeon style of those games. Doom 3 is very similar to the first Quake :)
