Our Other Non-pandora Project, Iphone Dpad!

This things looks awesome. I don't have an iPhone or Touch, but next time I'm upgrading this will be in the back of my mind. :D In the meantime I'm spreading the word to my iPhone owning friends, all of whom are jailbroken and emulating.

Huh? Craigix builds his own Pandora Competitor?
Many People have a I-Phone and the only reason why they didn't used it as Gaming Console was the lack of useful Gaming controlls. Now that this Apple thing will have a controll-Pad unit, nobody of the I-Phone Users with Gaming ambitions need a Pandora anymore. ^^"" AFAIK, the I-Phone had a good and beefy Processor to and even a 3D GPU. Hard to beat with the Pandora now, at least for people with an I-Phone (And we know there are MANY People with an I-Phone out there ;)

AND the new renders of the iControlPad look very very good AND it seems to have a Metal-Pad and Metal-Buttons AND it is cheap AND it will be available soon...

Not that I am planning on getting one, but will you sell a version for the just-announced 3g iPhone? (rather different in size/shape)
Yes, surely.........

Craig already said (and I think we'd all agree) that this new product will make the iPhone a GP2X competitor (similar price-point & performance). Craig's being a good businessman and is not creating a product to compete with another one of his own -- he's actually doing a great job: Those that want something more powerful than the GP2X can get his Pandora, those that want an alternative to the GP2X (and phone/music/web capabilities) can get his iControlPad, or if people just want a GP2X, they can buy one through him :)

Hm, makes sense but the Price of an iPhone is still far beyond good and evil for buying it just for Gaming (at least here in Germany) so I think it can't match with the GP2X unless you already HAVE a iPhone. ^_^

The iPhone 3G is going to be only $199 on July 11 (at least here in the US). That's $100 *less* than the cheapest iPod Touch! Of course, there is that pesky 2-year contract to deal with....

Yeah, at $70 a month, no thanks. It's obvious that AT&T is making back the money they're subsidizing.

Right. Here is a (german) overview over german, austria and british prices of phone and Contract:
http://www.spiegel.de/netzwelt/mobil/0,1518,559870,00.html

Cheapest pricing of everything together (Device, running costs...) in Germany is around €890,95 over 24 Monts (contract period)
Austria is €995 (24 Months)
GB is €790 (only 18 Months)
I really can't see any direct Competition releated to the GP2X. :D But of course if people already HAVE a iPhone, this Controll Pad is a great thing. :) But if you plan to buy a Gaming/Multimedia Gadget, the iPhone is not the best thing. I don't have the prices for the iPod Touch but I think this could be a much better and Cheaper Alternative for the iControll Pad.

Oh, does the iControllPad have Shoulder Buttons?

Loving the latest renders on the iControlpad. It's all about the shoulder buttons!

Anyone else really excited about this? It's a shame appstore apps like Bomberman, and Crash Bandicoot racing will most likely not support this :(
