Shipping Date For F200

Well, since GPH doesn't ship them out to anyone before that date, I think it's unlikely they'll ship it before that ;)

TRUE
Would you not agree that it should state that on their website though?
I'm not worried about it, but I was led to believe that ordering a product and paying $11.55 USPS priority 2-3 day shipping that I would get it at the most 4 days later depending on the date of order...

I'm not worried the least bit that I wont receive my product I just thought it was unprofessional that it clearly implies that it is available NOW but they in fact are not...

It does say "This item is expected to ship in late October.", but you would think that on the receipt or at least during checkout it would say that it is a pre-order...

I'm sorry for the confusion. The product page now highlights that it will be shipped out in late October and now states preorder in the product title to avoid future complications.

Well, firs time posting here even though I have been a reader of the forums here for awhile now...

I was wondering if anyone had any imput on exactly what needed to be tweaked before I pre-ordered mine. Is the problem the diagonals like the older PSP (which was pretty easily fixable with a mod) or something else?

I am probably going to order one either way unless its worse than my MK1, but it never hurts to ask I suppose.

I'd be very hesitant to pre-order anything because of how much can go wrong. From mainstream games where your pre-order is randomly given away to the first person who walks in the door of a brick-and-mortar to being stuck with a faulty unit and having no recourse because 'it's a small company' and 'you took risks being an early adopter'.

Probably interest is going to be low for a while even if the F200 is successful because there aren't any reports of what the unit is really like to use, but since the touchscreen will probably go mostly unused due to software not working on all gp2x units, just users who got an f200 (which will probably be in a minority)...really all you're getting is a d-pad and white paint. And if what DaveC said about the d-pad is right it sounds prett uncomfortable to use like the 2X's stick.

However, if you want a new gp2x in the UK, you don't have much choice but to pre-order a F200.

Anyway, it comes with some interesting games pre-installed (some of which use the touch screen).

I can't imagine it will be long before some of the emulators get touchscreen support for mouse and keyboard input, and I've certainly got a few ideas for using it in my own projects.

btw: dave c, what do you say to the new psp slim & light d pad?
I don't know really, I have not seen or tried the new PSP slim yet. I have the old PSP but I never use it, I am not really interested in PSX and I play the 360 when I want the latest 3D games.

hmm, I quite like it, at least it is better than the d pad of the phat version. At least I am able to play Giana Sisters on Vice or Street Fighter on CPS2 properly.

this was a bit off topic. anyway, I have placed my preorder and I look forward to the new device.

I think I'll be placing my pre-order myself latter today and just trusting that they learned from past mistakes.

But I have decided to keep my MK1 until I get a chance to really give the thing a good play test.

I am pretty much just ordering it for the d-pad (though I like the white color) so I hope it’s no harder to mod than the PSP was if it’s not quite up to snuff...

Obviously, not moding anything is the ideal though.

The only hope I really have for the touch screen would be that some people who want to make something for it looked at the excellent Clubhouse Games on the DS as a good way to go...

All of those are utterly simple, but real time bandits.

The PSP S&L has an awsome D-Pad it slightly raised and alot easier to do quick and precise taps for fighting games.

I watch the Blood Cross F-200 video on youtube and it looks like they are using the game as a basis for how the D-pad should feel in conjunction to the gameplay. that guy was pulling some moves off pretty easily it looks pretty good. It's probably the same unit type from the ones that were on display over at IFA. It's only going to get better I assume.
