The Whatever Happened To Zodttd Thread

Eeek! I know I'm late, but I vote for PSX! The progress being made was nothing short of miraculous, and it would be great if that could continue. You were really good at it.

i say psx for sure, if it ran ff7&8 i would be in heaven
...is a dreamcast emulator completely impossible? gigawing 2 would be super awesome on the gp2x....

Yep... the dreamcast is more powerful than the gp2x.

Since I love dreaming as much as anyone else...

Little big adventure engine would be cool or relentless as it was called in usa.

Although I say taking a break and getting crazy drunk for a few days in a row might be more fun than coding.

I vote for a Zodttd quality CPS1 emu... then I can play Captain Commando and Warriors of Fate on the train without the crusty sound and screen cut-off!!

I would vote for dosbox or PC-Engine.

I would still like to see a COMPLETE PC-Engine / Turbo Grafx EMU for the GP2X. I think that would be of far greater use than a PSX emu, personally... :)

I would vote PSX (but I think Una-i is running with this now?), Amiga & OutcaST - but I think those may take a steep learning curve to work on. Also aren'y these still being worked on by Critical, et al?
PC Engine is another good'un of course...

If you need myhelp Zodttd, you know where I am :)

Remember I only bodged DOSBOX together off an older build.

Source Code is available here somewhere, (I formatted my Linux Partition as it was busted)

But I'm sure the current source is on my USB Key at work

bOing

Heh also just relelised my member number 10110(000) in Binary to ASCII - = a ball ;) °

b°ingball: Let's say magically DOSBox on the gp2x could be made twice as fast as your current build with a nicely done dynarec, how much would it help?

Btw, I'm currently working on TTD2X. :) I'm keeping an eye on more projects. I don't know much about the Amiga in terms of emulating it. It would be awesome though. I also like the CPS1 idea.

I stand by PC-Engine only be considered with DaveC accepting a final release with default settings for a stretched screen and sound disabled. :p
The problem with this project is I rather leave polishing up to someone else. I'm not good with the end of a project.

I'm suprised nobody said SNES. Squidge might just have convinced me to give it a try, though I don't know how severe emulation of it currently is. I don't know how much I could help either. But with help from the likes of Exophase, Squidge, and especially Unai, at very least for advice, maybe good could come out of it. I'd only do it if it were a community project though with a public SVN. It's the way to go with this, everyone chipping in.

SNES would be great, I'd love it to be polished up, and if you can add better support of the weird and wonderful chips it would be heaven :p I never suggested SNES since I didn't know if it was something of interest to you... lol

I like to take something that exists and optimize it, as thats what my time for homebrew permits. So SNES attracts me greatly for this. :)

BUT! I just found out from Franxis' thread that there's a Final Burn Alpha emu that can be somewhat easily ported to the GP2X. I didn't know it could play DoDonPachi, but now that I do, this might be a great project. Anyone want to motivate me for this one? ;P

Do the Amiga! SNES is better than good enough...

Definately Amiga. The two Amiga emulators for GP2X seem to be on hiatus. So sad because they were getting sooo close to being playable. I wouldn't complain if you decided on DOSbox or Final Burn Alpha though :)

DOSBOX!!! Lots of great games only exist for DOS (Eternam, Shadow of the Comet, Sierra SCI games, Princess Maker 2, Mad TV, Tyrian....with no annoying disk swapping).
I think it´s worth trying
