i was looking through the skins directory but couldnt find any skins for firmware 3.0.0
or do skins for older firmwares work on the newer one?
and how do i access the nand memory??

The NAND is accessed by activating USB access for it and connecting the gp2x to the USB port of a PC. Dunno about the skins, I never got that working.. :p

yeah i'm on version 3... i got it bundled with my gp2x when i first got it. i feel like - because of the lack of skin etcetc support - that this would explain my troubles with my emulation. its getting to me. can you downgrade firmware?????????????????????????????? I am tearing out my hair over here!

the liquid skin 3D works well in FW3; i too downgraded to 2.11 but then could not find the option to change the skin in that FW; so i upgraded back lol.

the other skins in FW3 seem to get cutoff in their graphic display?

the emulators work fine in fw 3; i have tried so far mame; neo geo (download the one from the comnents section of the dl archive as it is already configured with the neogeo bios) and picodrive

There's no problem for emulators and all other programs in FW3.0. Everything works fine. Except there are a few skins that supports FW3. There are also some limitations about creating one. I created a skin for myself but couldn't find a way to change the "animation frame count", "creator of the skin" and some options like that. Does anyone know how to do?

cheers bro. can you default back to the original skin using some option or whatever? instead of downloading the default skin. i've tried putting the default skin on from the archives and it doesn't quite work............. *shrugs*

Is there any way to convert skins from 2.x.x to 3.x.x without remaking the whole skin?

Thanks for that. Just what I was after. Now I just have to wait for my gp2x.. which is going to probably take up to 2 weeks more to arrive :-||

Sorry for the thread revival, but I need to ask this!

I've done the same as peelie last night and down graded to 2.1.1 so I could use the SDHC supporting hacked kernel. Everything works peachy but there seems to be no option to change the skin in the settings? Is this normal? Plus to get Gmenu2x to work I had to put the "gmenu2x" folder on my SD card, but the "autorun" file on the NAND, the turn on "boot from NAND" in the settings!

Putting autorun in the SD cards (i tried 3, only one was SDHC) didn't work. Not only that, but every time I change the "Autorun" option in the settings, it always changed back to on, not that it actually made a difference.

Thanks in advance for any info! :D

edit: I guess after patching with notaz's patch (this thread) that it's 2.1.2 I'm running now.

Sorry for re-reviving this here thread, but I would love to know the status of those awesome skins for the 2.x.x firmware being updated to 3.0.0 compatibility. Anyone? I would think there would still be some active skinners (correct syntax on that one?) that would try their hand at making skins for the new firmware.

Then again, it's not available for download, officially. So maybe we're waiting until it's officially released as an upgrade?

You're much better off using Gmenu2x instead of the default firmware front end, and there are plenty of nice skins done for it :)

This might be true, but has it been all updated to work with FW3? If not, I do not really want to brick my new GP2X to 'downgrade' to 2.1.2 just to get different skins.
