I just recently got my gp2x. I put two of the 4 rechargable batteries in. They lasted around 30mins. I figured ok, they lost power cause shipping was so long and before that they were in a stockroom forever. I put the next two in and got the same amount of time. Then my bro gave me some non rechargables and they lasted even shorter. I recharged the batteries I got fully. Now I am getting around 10 mins!!! My gp2x really cannot hold a charge. Has anyone experianced this? I also seems when the batteries get real low I select settings, video, whatver and it just freezes. Is that typical of the batteries running out? Also I cannot get into USB under settings. I press 'B' but I doesnt go into usb mode. Related to power problems maybe?

Hmm, when you say "the 4 rechargeable batteries" are you referring to the ones that shipped with the '2X? Chances are, they suck.

There's a reflex answer I usually give regarding these situations ...

"Get some 2500MaH NiMH or better rechargeables (I use Duracell 2650's) and a card reader"

Yeah they were the ones it came with but i tried other rechagables and nonrechargables.

Can you tell me if freezes are typical of dying batteries though? I also get sort of tv static/interference looking effects when the batteries finally die? Sound famililar?

When my batteries finally die, I get the screen freeze of whatever I am playing. Sometimes it will go white right away and other times it will take a while after it freezes before the white thing.

Make sure the rechargeables are camera batteries, NiHM. Like TelcoLou said 2500 MaH or better. I use the same batteries and I get a good play time with mine.

edit: nonrechargables will probably last 10 to 15 minutes. The unit needs the NiHM.

2500mah or better is bullshit, 2200mah works just fine, and they are loads cheaper...

I get mine at Walmart and there is not that much difference in price.
