Pocketsnes Version 3

This emu is crazy, I've never had a portable snes experiance like it.

I've just gotten so used to things slowing down to a crawl in games when it just keeps moving super smoothly (I know its a bit dramatic) but it just doesn't feel real.

Awesome work by all the devs.

I have you tried the NK SNES emu with memory hack and overclock?? this one is juste the same speed with transparency activated ^^

Erm, no. NK's+mmuhack plays F-zero with transparencies and no sound at a slighly slower speed than DrPocketsnes does with transparencies and WITH sound, both clocked at 250mhz. I suggest you try more games.

Yeah I've tried NKs emu, and it completely beats it hands down when dealing with sound and/or transperances. Gundam wing endless duel is almost perfect with PKsnes

It depend on the game you try, some games work better in NKSNEs (1-3 fps more) or in this one but yes overall this one is more speedy with game witout transparency without this option ^^

Drokkeh: What exactly are playable speeds? In Mariokart its slower than in Squidgesnes. Are you experiencing the same thing?

Actually i cant quantify this. I tried mario kart @ 250Mhz on time trial only and it was fine. GP may be a different matter. Pilotwings is playable IMHO.

I love these Snes Emu's, they always get people frothing at the mouth.

One demand: It would be great to have option brightness like -1, -2 ,-3.

Raaah SNES was such a lovely gaming terror!! I'm replaying ZElda and still love it! Can anyone develop an interpreter for GameCube's Zelda Four Swords please? Gives me the feeling of an old zelda with modern eye-candys and different gameplay ;)

(hey before you flame... just kidding ok?)

IMHO what is most important now is speed. Everything important is here (save states, scaling, nive GUI etc) but some speed improvements would be definitely better than minor options like remembering which rom you chose, or else :)

(easier said than done, though)

Hey, how would ZSNES work with an x86 emulator? :p

I've been waiting for something like this to start playing SNES games on the gp2x but now I can't find my cardreader... :(

It runs FF6 at 35fps when OC'd to 270 MHz... still a bit slow, but it's a good start.

Great emulator. I can now run most of my roms.

Is there a way of exiting to the menu screen ? In squigesnes you pressed both shoulders and the start ?

Got a GP2X for Christmas and am loving being able to place all the speccy games as well as openttd.

Awesome work guys!

Pilot Wings on my GP2X is surely going to make my next few commutes fly-by, runs at <> 20fps at 280mhz, so at frame skip 1 it is very playable, yay! One of my all time snes games makes it onto my GP2X!

[edit]

Wooo, now I am reliving the last part of my teenage years! Woot for Fifa 96 + 97 running with nice sound, and low over clock!

Press the middle of the volume switch :)

Wow, there does seem to be an improvement.

I get 20 FPS in general - clocked to 250 FS1

Could some one post their FPS and stats?

Also, mario all stars has a garbled screen when you go to the menu. Coud someone confirm that this is the emulator and not the rom I am using?

nice

i've gotta second this one. on my mk1 (and i'm assuming at least some others are similar) i have to move the slider all the way to the left to eliminate interlacing problems, but the (faster?) timing washes out the screen somewhat, and lowering either brightness or gamma would even things out. save me from having to write a script :D

eh, i'll probably try to do a script anyway. but i know that changing the gamma doesn't do squat for ghostpix, although fenix is probably different.

OK...I have my GP2X and pocketsnes:

Overclocked to 250
Full scaling on

I have noticed that with frame skip I get a frame rate of 20 on average
With frameskip 0 I get a frame rate of 30 on average

Seems odd

donkey kong country 1-2 are playable now..used to go to less than 10 fps now at 20-25 fps at 250 mhz
