Hello everybody.

I thought I would see the topic come up really quickly, but looks like nobody has heard of it yet. There is a new hand held coming out soon called Zodiac by a company called tapwave.

And why is that competition to the GP32. Well, judge for yourselves:
- ARM9 Processor at 200Mhz
- ATI® Imageon™ GPU with 8MB
- 480 x 320 screen
- Touch screen
- MultiMediaCards, Secure Digital (SD) cards and SDIO cards
- Built-in Bluetooth
- Tapwave enhanced Palm OS 5.2T
- Web Browser and SMS client for use with compatible Bluetooth
- Lots of commercial games (Tony Hawk,...)

http://www.tapwave.com

What do you think! It's still a bit pricy, but it has massive potentional as it also runs on an ARM procesor, which means that all GP32 homebrew could run on it when re-compiled with tapwave's SDK

yep, been discussed many times, and recently too. ;)

btw, swiss_cheeseman, hows Super-GP32 coming along? ;)

thread deleting is a feature I want in these forums, or at leask a thread locker for the people who created the thread.

its too expensive.

Not really. If all it did was play games then yeah, it's a bit pricey.

But since the Zodiac is a full fledged Palm OS 5 device, plus it has the video and audio chips, big frontlit screen, bluetooth, game controls, etc. the price is not too bad.

Think of the emulators that can run in 128MB of RAM with a 200Mhz CPU. Plus the thing will run something like 19,000 Palm apps right out of the box.

I don't think the Zodiac will kill the GP32. Think of it as more of a big brother. They really address different markets.

Little brother, you mean. GP32 is older ;D

I think it's going to be a great system. Not too pricey considering what it is, either. I'll probably pick one up if I have the money once it comes out. Never getting rid of my GP32, though. :D
