I was copying some files to my SD card (via the GP2X and linker cable), and this error suddenly popped up:

sdcarderror6bl.jpg

Now it comes up every time I try to copy files to the card. It's less than half full (2GB card, around 960mb on it so far). Not only that, but my friend earlier was recieving the exact same error with a Viking 2GB.

I bought my card from www.gp2x.co.uk - Could be an "Intergral" card, that's what it says on it anyway.

Can anyone help? If a format is all it takes then i'm ok, but i'd like to know if this has happened to anyone else and if they found a way to fix it.

could try scandisk that might work

i had the same problem with my mates mp3 player fixed that right up :)

hope this helps

I tried that and no errors showed up (Automatic fixing was switched off) but I shall attempt it again now. I've rebooted, and if neither of these things work i'm going to need a way to format the card using windows XP without making my card unreadable.

Is there a way to do this without a card reader? Software perhaps?

Edit: Just tried putting something onto the unit again, and still doesn't want to work.

Could it have anything to do with the card being pre-formatted as a fat system? I'm just below going over 1gb.

Edit Edit: Actually i've gone over 1gb, would there be a reason why my SD card wouldn't work over 1gb? I checked the drive via Computer Management in Administrative tools, and it reports the card to be healthy.

Maybe it is the usb connectivity f*ing it up? usb is horribly broken in the gp2x when it comes to connecting it to your computer... it is always better to have a card reader handy. Is there a friend or somebody where you can take your card and test it on a card reader?
