Does anyone know of a freeware tool that performs similarly to FRAPS? (pref with sound). The best I can find is Taksi but doesn't record any sound :(.

Cheers

Recording on the game machine is a bad idea anyways. If you really want good videos then get a second computer with video and audio inputs and split the output from your game machine to its monitor/speakers AND the other machine for recording. Better control, better framerate, better everything.

record sound with another app, like Audacity. that is if you have a soundcard that can loopback playback as a recording device, like all Creative cards after SB Live!.

edit: which game are we talking about here? many 3D engines have builtin bmp dumping which doesn't drop frames. FRAPS and the like hook to the OGL/D3D interface and drop frames if HDD performance suffers from all the dumping.

Any game really as I wanted to record my demos to be uploaded to an online portfolio. Also I wanted video demos reather then just screen captures.
