A-b/x-y Buttons - No Space

wow, im really suprised with all the gp2x fanboyism in this thread, the buttons are WAY too close, and i've had problems myself in some games hitting X and Y at the same time without hittin the other buttons, and my fingers are not fat at all, so shut up you retards its got nothing to do with fat or large thumbs

I have absolutely no problems with the GP2X buttons. The joystick is hell, the buttons are fine. If I was nitpicky and had to find a problem with everything, *cough*DaveC*cough* then it would be the labelling. The buttons shouldn't be in that orientation, i.e. I'd prefer A to be where B is, etc.

Just we are all on the same page, I'm talking about the physical button names, not what they get named in any emu's. So I mean a layout like:

Y
A B
X

Also, I'm quite a skinny lad, so my fingers aren’t fat :p

I grew up using Snes controllers, and the space between the buttons on them makes it pretty easy to hold X+Y, since you can just move your thumb up and press X with the bone joint bit, and Y with the end of your finger. On this though, I hold X with the joint in my thumb, but can't get my finger through the gap between A and B to press Y without pressing them too.

Since some of you have no trouble doing this, maybe someone with better button-fu could be able to upload a photo of how they do it, and teach a grasshopper like me the art of the button :p

I've adapted ... though I can see where my fat-ass thumb hangs over the edge of the buttons .. I've worn a shiny area on the case all around 'em

Actually I have no complaint with the buttons. I don't HAVE to find a problem with everything, but if there is one I will say it and not hold back ;)

what I have been really surprised about esp considering that these buttons are so close together, that they have not been used as the needed by some 4-way joystick, and the the volume/clickjoystick as a button.
