Playstation Worms On Gp2x?

Really? So setting it to that speed is simply restoring it to the norm? Of course, it conserves battery life by being underclocked, but this looks pretty good for more demanding stuff. So any estimates on what it might be safe to overclock to?

I'm not demanding to be able to play it FFS - didn't you read the title of the thread? As somebody who's been a member for nearly 3 years, I would have thought you could spot the difference between a 'Can I play Halo on the GP2X' and a 'Does game <X> run in emulator <Y>' post!

Save your sarcastic comments for the noobs, will ya...
You asked for Worms on the PSX and since it is very unlikely to run well enough at this time, I gave you an option on how to play the game you wanted (but on a different system). Unfortunately, appreciation is scarce and flames come in abundance, I will try to not give any tips to you in the future.

On the GP32 at least it was safe to attempt to (software) overclock to any frequency, since if you went to high the most likely thing to happen would be the CPU reading the memory wrong or miscalculating, resulting in a crash. Rebooting it would set it right again. However, if you did any physical alterations to the voltage the CPU could get overheated and burn up.

Someone could try porting Wormux.

I'd give it a go if I had my GP2X. Unfortunately it's not here yet, and when it does get here EasyWrite2X will be the first thing I'll work on. If I get bored, I'll do something else. Great thing about homebrew.

There was someone somewhere developing something like a Worms clone, yes... Haven't heard from it lately, though.

That was Sweetfish I think. Actually we both study computer science at the same university (but never met or know each other), it's a small world. ;)

No - I asked if it was likely that Worms would run reasonably on the emulator. That was what this thread was about. The title should have given that away. I've got a playstation and Worms, so I can play it anyway. You didn't give me any tips - you jumped into a thread without reading the original post. At no point did I ask what I can play worms on.

Cheers.

This forum seems to have become a worse place recently - I thought it was a perfectly reasonable question, but the thread's been hijacked into a discussion about other ways to play worms and performance of the GP2X!

Oh well...

What kind of stupid idea is that? As if it was worth it for Sony to spend so much money... Why should a PS emulator be bad for them in any way? It actually makes people buy their games...

I think it's perfectly reasonable to expect Sony to try to stamp it out. That's exactly the sort of thing they do - imagine what being able to play PSX games on the GP2X would do to PSP sales...

normally the PSP games are not the PSX's games, normally :D
and peoples who play psx games (on GP2X or something else) usually use their own games so i don't see the deal with the PSP who plays different games on a different support :p

I don't think the GP2X will become high profile enough for sony to really do that, but I guess they might, I wouldn't put it beneath sony in any way, they're just plain evil imo (their only redeeming factor being that they sponsor anime :p).

Hey at I just remembered... GPH listed at among other "in development" software, a "worms clone" (or maybe it was "gunbound clone)did they not? Not entirely sure they were telling truth though...

Well, Rally Pop on the GP32 is similar to Worms, maybe it's a GP2X sequel?

Also, Worms exists on the Megadrive, so you could even play it on the GP32! ;)

Ah, the golden rule, the more you flame the more right you are.
