How Gbax.com Orders Are Going??

Thanks Craig, I know its hard for you to give firm dates in the currect situation, its much appreciated

i can't believe this. We all knew from the start that as gbax is a small company they will not be as fast as say pcworld or novatech or scan.

Lol I should hope they're not like pc world, they'd go bankrupt pretty quick if they were. My brother ordered a pc from them and it arrived minus monitor. He complained so they sent another pc and 2 monitors. He let them know and they gave him a refund (thats 2 pc's and a full refund) he told them again and they gave him another refund. In the end he got them to take back both refunds but got to keep both pc's. Not bad considering they cost almost a grand each. Lucky for them he's honest lol.

Personally I'll hopefully be ordering a GP2X tomorrow, but I'm happy to wait. More chance for new stuff to come out, plus I'm still more than satisfied with my GP32 which has taken up more game hours than any other machine I've owned except my old amiga.

P.S. Any news on full speed GBA and Amiga emulation yet ;)

Taking pre-order is ok but why take money from people if you can't send the console immediatly?
If they could send it immediately it wouldn't be a "pre-order", it would just be an "order". A pre-order is, by definition, not available yet.

Craig, thanks for posting an estimate of the cutoff date. Hopefully that will reduce the inquiries. I am humbled by the number of units you guys must be ploughing through tonight (and recently in general). Fantastic dedication! Please don't let a few grumps make you feel unappreciated, most of us have nothing but respect for the exhaustive committment and level of service you demonstrate.

you havent understood what i means. the main problem is gbax instead of most of other distributor take money immediately instead of take the money of customer just before send it.

You're talking about a customer putting down a deposit and paying the balance when the item is about to ship, correct?

I've had many big stores take the full amount immediately for a pre-order. It's not unusual at all.

Well duh' if you ordered one only recently after two months of preorders, how soon did you think you were going to get it? I prepaid back in September and only get it last week.

It's just a different way of doing business and a safer way for a small business so they dont over order and lose money, they dont have to go too deep in their own pockets to pay for the units (since they are prepaid) and the customer has committed to the order.

If you dont bother checking/asking questions before you put money down then really it's your own fault.

I believe the term pre-order is most commonly used to refer to items paid for in advance. Wikipedia agrees.

Regardless, it's not like they secretly took your money in advance, so I still don't really understand your complaint. It was very clear that the product was not available yet, and you must've provided your purchase info willingly, so where is the problem?

If you want your money back due to any delays or problems I am sure you can get it.

:D Got my email at 23:59pm, I am very happy camper indeed. No more F5 for me. :)

To allow some of you to see how far and how fast Craigix and his team have come, I ordered mine on the 2nd October. That's a full two weeks after the pre-order launch and I will be getting mine inside of week of the first receipients. That is extremely good going, although I do wonder how Craigix and co are going to be able to come of their caffine additiction that they must surely have by now. <-Caffine dependencey=crazy golfball eyes!

Just try to be patient, I know it's hard, but they are coming!! :D

just got a reply from Jacquelyn, thanks alot! :D
I ordered on the 14th of november, and i'm gonna be on the december shipment :)
No need to hang around waiting for the UPS guy then :p

Maybe overseas people like us are getting bumped to the back of queue? I have to say that, with all respect to Craig and gbax, I feel their pre-ordering system has been less than transparent. I ordered on the 16/10, thinking I was getting a gp2x shipped way before the end of that month, and a case and headphones. I have received no emails to indicate otherwise (except for my follow up emails). The updates on the webpage have been quite limited and it is only through reading this website that I have discovered most of the news. Perhaps in future they need to send out updates when delays become apparent?

I feel sorry for the guy in October/November who kept the faith saying "they're doing a good job, it doesn't matter if the October date slips a few weeks. I just hope I get it for my birthday on the 17th Nov".

I just think this is a case of a small company that promised more than it could deliver - and I'm neither condemning or praising, I'm just offering suggestions.

I know of lot of posters here have been quite hostile to people who have questioned the process, all I can say is that I thought I had an agreement with gbax when I forked over my cash, and so the onus is on them to defend why it changed... :)

Could be... I'm in Canada.

As for GBAX, I think you are right that they got more preorders than they were expecting to handle... hence the all-nighters they're pulling now. I gotta respect that, especially if they really do get all pre Oct-16 orders (read: MINE :p) out by the end of tonight.

We are trying to clear to 16th october by morning.

This post will sound selfish (especially to those working all night!) but I'll be travelling long-term (for a year) in just a few days and therefore wont have any permanent address and I really wanted a gp2x with me for the travels!

When I originally ordered I was told it'd be no problem to have it by 20th November. Obviously there have been setbacks and I totally understand that and am not a complainer but for me, unfortunately it's now or never... (or at least now or a year later!) I'm a latecomer to the underground handheld world and missed out on the GP32 and was so excited about this new console and bringing it on the road...

My order went through on 19th October. Craig, if you happen to read this and think there's any chance at all of 19th October orders shipping before the weekend, then that would be wonderful! If not, I suppose I'll reluctantly have to contact you to cancel (very reluctantly as, despite the initial problems, I still think this is going to be one cool piece of kit)

Whether you make it as far as mine or not, I know you're flat out getting the orders processed - good luck with it!

Overseas customers are not being moved anywhere, all orders are done in order they arrived, if we didn't DaveC would have pointed that out a long time ago.

And just because I said we are hopeing to reach the 16th by the morning does not mean it is stopping there.

I ordered on October 31...so hopefully mine will ship this week. I wish it actually functioned as a movie player though. I could live with having to wait on the emus, but I thought for sure it would play movies right out of the box. Oh well, maybe better firmware will be out by the time mine arrives. :)

Finally!! Any idea on how long it will take if shipped tuesday morning to get to the West Coast US?
