Gpquake 0.5

What Files do I need Again and where do they go ?? (Been so long since I last used GP Quake :) )... Do I just need Pak0 (Or do I need Pak1 as well?)

--EDIT-- ok. Im guessing I just put PAK0 into GPMM\QUAKE\ID1 ???
pak0.pak in gpmm/quake/id1 will give you the shareware level. Put pak1.pak in there too to get the full game. And if you want to play mods, create a folder in gpmm/quake for each mod and put it's files in there.

So If I want all levels I need Pak0 and Pak1 ??? What if I just put Pak1 in ???

Hmm what speed it this new version clocked at?? because it just resets me gp :(

132mhz

The launcher allows you to select various clockspeeds from 132 to 256. By default it will use 132mhz which shouldn't reset any gp32. I'm guessing you've not installed all the files correctly (see the readme).

Is there a problem with the Mhz Selector? My GP32 can hit 254mhz perfectly, but When I select 252 or 240 the GP32 Resets ?

You'll need both to get all the levels, pak1.pak on it's own won't work.

Does the fxe do anything at all? The fxe is just a launcher which will execute gpmm/quake/gpQuake.qbi when you press start and it shouldn't cause any reset problems.

Overclocking can vary between apps. Just because you can hit 254mhz in one app doesn't mean that you can always clock to that speed. However, I can't test any clock speeds greater than 160mhz so it's always possible there's something wrong with those two speeds (but I've heard that some people can get to 256mhz in gpQuake).

no problem.. From 166mhz - 220mhz its only realy a FPS change of 2

Is there a Stripped down version of Pak1?, Just 30mbs is big :) hehe (Or is there a guide on how to strip it down)... Is it possible to add Zip Support to GPQuake or does the GP32's 8MB Ram make that a problem ?

well, you can open it up via a .PAK explorer ( i forget what I used , Wally I think , or PAKexplore ) and delete the demos and all sounds to get it as small as you can , other than that, play around
I cut off a few megs from the shareware version and it still runs
( I dont have sounds or demo's in there )

Like most 3D games this has me motionsick within minutes but it looks and plays great. At 166mhz and with double size it's very playable and it's great to have sound enabled, it adds a lot to the gameplay. It's very nice to see a near perfect Quake running on the GP32 :)

???
wtf?
do I know you?
the Sig and AV set were made for me for an achievement on another board
I won a contest of most helpful ( then left the boards lol ) qand got a free sig and AV set of my choice, and I chose Megaman , and the megaman in my sig is my favorite

You know... I have seen lots of mention of GP quake since buying my GP a month ago... but figured... 7-9 fps... nah I'd just be saddened by it, as I've been spoiled by full speed doom, and I know emulators running at 7-9 fps are nigh-unplayable, so no way Quake would be enjoyable this way.

man was I wrong

GPQuake left my jaw on the floor. It's easily playable even at 9fps. I don't even use double size mode... I was still very impressed. I wish more people would devote their time to bringing over PC games of this caliber to the GP... now that I've seen just what this little beast is capable of.

I too, need another SMC now... Woogal, this is just simply amazing!!!!!!!!

Whoah.... astonishing. Seems like the save/load bug is fixed. the crosshair is a bit crooked, but u can disable it and make a new one ( with edding  )

argh, why does gpquake modify config files?
i do an "exec jekyll.cfg" from autoexec.cfg, and after running gpquake, random config-entries are in jekyll.cfg, and not the ones I put in

This is Great! You just have to love gpQuake! :D

One question though. Have no idea if it can be done but is there any posibility there will be a deathmatch mode? Not multiplayer, just bots.

Keep up the awesome work!

does this version of GPquake have the floating-point stuff pre-converted, like they said the PPC version did?
