Ok I have £250 sitting here from selling chatboards so Ive decided to go buy Half Life 2... But I have some questions first :)

What do I get with Half Life 2 ??

Does it come with CS : Source ??

and is it worth it?? :)

Also wheres the cheapest place to buy it. Shops in town will be selling it below £30 wont they?

Thanks

Tescos - £29.99

...Yes it comes with CS source.

...And it seems pretty good, but I've only played it for an hour. And after fucking around with steam for an hour and a half, it does put you off the game a lot. I'm tempted to swap it for a retail doom3 and dowload the cracked HL2.

I'll play it again and give it a chance to redeem itself. It does seem pretty damn good.

Steam isn't that bad it can just be wicked annoying at times like if it just for some reason doesn't like you and won't connect

but if that isn't a problem it is wonderful and really easy for the devs to update the game

EDIT: just go dl steam see if it connects and if it does go get HL2

Don't buy it from a store, you're going to have to authenticate the game through steam anyway, and in addition to that theres a CD Check that was added by vivendi at the last minute. Just take your time to download it and back it up to CD/DVD when done and you'll have something that is just as good, if not better than a boxed copy.

I'll be the first to admit that steam has its problems, but it does have potential to be a good content delivery system. You need broadband either way though, even if you do get the DVD/CDs, since you'll need to constantly authenticate and update the game. Also, Vivendi are bigger dicks than Valve are (which would make them pretty big dicks), so better to support the lesser dicks, Valve.

Did you know that VALVE can make you pay again for the game after 30 days? Dis is da total Shit!
And the chances of that happening are nil. So shut the fuck up.

I just went down to the 24 Hour Tesco and bought it :)

£29.97

If I bought it off the Net for £26 - £28, yea Im saving £4 but I probably would not have received it untill Wed / Thursday

Nice... Im getting problems with HL2 :( -

I have installed it etc, But when I start HL2, the Menu bounces from Left to right to left to right to left to right and so does some of the background items like the chair and tree...

Anyone else had this problem?
