Bluetooth

then I could walk around the house, take a shit, and play with cats all with my gp32!

My lifelong dream comes to fruition at last! :p

This is top news. Certainly an upgrade I'd consider buying if the price was right (I'm a tight-fisted git, I know).

wow just as things got really interesting with comps and new releases this just fires up the oven to another level. I am the only one i know with a gp32 so multi player is no good to me although if multi player via the internet becomes available and web browsing so i can check www.gp32x.de a whole 10m away from my comp then i may get one,, 10m isn't all that far but it is close enough so i could sit outside n play.,,. Any devs seeing this and thinking of any possiblililites they could implement... nudge nudge wink wink to the smashgp maker i would lobve to see smashgp being a online multi player game,,, WOW the possiblilitites

You're thinking too narrow. There's plenty of other (more popular) devices that have bluetooth so I'm sure you must know someone with a pocket pc, palm or s60 phone. One of the first things I'm going to try to do once I get my hands on one of these is a multiplayer game on gp32, pocket pc, and s60 (sorry palm users, I don't have a device I can easily develop on).

S60 interests me the most here, especially if files etc. could be transferred.

Even multiplayer between S60 and GP32 would rock.

yeh sounds good,, he sud be a guru,, but only if he starts supplying before christmas(be of motivation) yeh i never thought of mobile,, so in theory we could sit on a train and connect to your mobiles using bluetooth and then check this site for updates and find a nice new homebrew, and then download it straight to smc,, wow (i know this is along way off but WOW)

Right. I'll buy one then - any ideas of a ballpark price? Are we talking ~£50, ~£75 or ~£100 ?

Yeah the idea is fantastic :) and as cheap as it'll be, as much popular it'll become ;p wishing I can afford this, but I really love the idea :) I wish it can be easily support by GPLinux & homebrew GP Games then the possibilities are near endless ;p Please make it avaiable asap Nigelibrown ;p

Nice ^^
And why not a wifi connection in the futur ?
to control my Aibo ^^

yeah of course WiFi got many advantages on bluetooth, but in question of mobility & in particular in battery life, the bluetooth is really the best for our little GP ;p WiFi would surely make the battery life become too short imo...

Fantastic news Woogal :) I would adore a multiplayer version of BTAL ;p & interconnexion is really a great idea :) Maybe you should contact Nigelibrown to get one GPBluetooth adaptor asap & at a cheaper "special coder" price ;p

So, bluetooth to keyboard for easy text entry, bluetooth to a mouse for ease of movement, and bluetooth to a phone for net access. Yeehaw!

this will be kick ass!!! Also u should be able to get it to work farther than 10m if u hack ur antena at ur comp i read about it in the last popular science mag.

so basically they did that just by replacing the aerial at the PC end...? no signal boosters or anything...?

page from google said:
Q: What is the data throughput speed of a Bluetooth connection?
A: Bluetooth transfers data at a rate of 721 Kbps, which is from three to eight times the average speed of parallel and serial ports, respectively. This bandwidth is capable of transmitting voice, data, video and still images.

is this what we can expect from this device in terms of speed?

booooooya! this is really great news! so, how much will this thing cost? and any ideas on how much it would cost to ship the the USA?

something that you might consider, a package deal that would include a chatboard and the bluetooth adapter for a small discount... :D

is there any kind of support the the gps unit yet? because being able to see where i am with my gp32 would be pretty damned cool...

you are the coolest!

Hey, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it dangerous to be within 20cm of the antenna unit? Does that mean that I have to hang my GP on the wall and poke it with a stick?
