The Switch isnt that Pocketable, but modern Tablets arend also made to put in your Pocket,
Also if you want to take the Switch whit you, you also have normaly some Bags whit you..
On a Journey long enought that you need something to play in traveltime, you also have something like a "Rucksack/Backpack" or a Slingbag whit you, ..

After i bought me this Ebook Reader, who fits in my Pocket, i also took my Switch whit me if i got on a longer Journey (over an Hour Car Ride par exemple), but now i have Books to read

Finally reached 500 hours played :D

If anything the only thing Nintendo can be blamed for is trying to innovate in a world of otherwise stagnant (mid-range gaming PC) consoles.
That's the problem with innovation: every step outside the box has a chance of being great for some and lousy for others.

Yeah, Probably worth knowing about if your eMMC ever dies, but other than that, just a curiosity.

Also, lol at using a hot air rework station to free up a sticky pad. Also, lol at using windows; 'Download another tool from a random website and run it as admin'. Also, lol at downloading live gparted and then just using it to observe the drive.

@levi an 858D is not a hot-air rework station as much as that pictured hairdryer is. You can get one for 30USD... if you want to do smd rework with that thing, good luck. It's nice for shrinktubes and adhesive removal (if it doesn't crap out after one time use like mine did or burn down your house because it isn't grounded correctly). And in the video he seems to be using a hotair gun for paint removal, which is absolutely the appropriate tool for removing parts held down by adhesive which would otherwise break.

Maybe I got the better quality rebranded model of the 858D, but I've done quite a bit of SMD work with mine, owned it for 5 years now.

Weird, I must have gotten a later model then I guess. They rebranded these like crazy and there are many versions of it. I think there was a lot of hype around this hot air gun when someone discovered that you could reprogram the microcontroller in it (if you got one of the earlier versions) and could compensate for the temperature overshoot it normally has, but I have seen many reviews of the 858D where they found horrible wiring issues because of terrible quality control and when I still bought one I wasn't able to get my solder paste cooked at all, temperature wasn't consistent and the airflow was laughable. I got myself a quick 861DW instead and that thing is leagues better for the still pretty affordable price. Anyway my 858D was not able to help with smd components, desoldering was also a nightmare and when I tried to use it for some shrink tubing the second time I actually turned it on, the blower fan inside the handle blew and it's dead now. Not sure if it's the fan itself or whatever is driving it, too lazy to repair that thing. I opened the handle and case, but decided not to trust the shoddy electronics inside, bad connections and lotsa hot glue. Maybe I'll do something with the case, I was thinking of getting a unisolder pcb to drive JBC soldering wands and could use a case for it.

Those colors though. I guess I'd go for grey and try and replace the joysticks and buttons with a different color maybe with a joystick cover

Seems reasonable to me. Similar screen to that on the full-fat console with no loss in resolution (except against when you plug it into a TV, which you can't with this anyway). Still got a MicroSD slot.

I guess this marks the full stop in the end of the Nintendo DS line of handhelds. It's got analogue sticks rather than nubs, so I guess you'll need to protect it more against lint ingress, but you'd need a case anyway to reduce the risk of them getting snapped off, and the screen getting dinged.

Awwww Yeah, just what the doctor ordered. LOL

This is all I wanted, and I'll be there day one, so long as my funds are good. Yellow is my personal favorite color, so this may be the first time ever I get a color I actually want at launch. Of course I understand others may not like the colors offered, but at least we have some options. "N" isn't always the best in the area, so having some choices that aren't black only is awesome. The blue would be my second choice, and the grey would of course be a last resort. This looks great, and I can't wait, but my newly hacked Vita should keep me good until then, as it's going to be a long 2+ months. LOL

I see why they released a handheld only version. However I won't get it as it has no use for me.
I'd buy a pro version with a better SOC any time.

A Switch that doesn't switch. Next thing they make a 3DS that doesn't... oh.

While most of my time spent on the Switch is indeed in handheld mode, there's no way I'd sacrifice TV mode or HD rumble (it seems so insignificant but is really nice when done right). Local multiplayer gets rarer these days but is gonna be incredibly awkward when on this model, which doesn't seem to have a stand either.

If this isn't significantly cheaper, I frankly don't see the appeal. Though I'm not in the market for one anyways, I admit.

Well until Breath of the Wild 2 comes out I see no reason to move from the Wii-U yet...

And then I'll get the Switch that is capable of TV output.

Hmm, yes the specs omit any kind of rumble motor as far as I can see. That's a slightly weird omission, but I guess makes sense as a handheld device (albeit one that runs home console games). I can read that the DS line of consoles needed a cart inserted in their GBA port to rumble, and I don't think I've ever felt my 3ds rumble.

Edit: Any extra controllers you buy for games like 1 2 Switch will still have the 3d rumble feature though. I dunno how the single player games use the rumble feature, I recall some of the older Zelda games used rumble to indicate hidden features in the dungeons.
