Some personal stuff - and prototypes building!

@ClockworkCoder Before I studied technical facility management, I would have said the same thing, but now liquids and gases are fluids to me - although after getting my diploma in 2006, I never occupied myself professionally (neither in any other form productively) with anything related to thermodynamics.

Indeed, I was speaking from a layperson's perspective. Undoubtedly air is fluid, whether or not it actually A fluid ;)

Actually I was mostly trolling for entertainment and to buy time for @ED while he works on that video update for us :p

I just meant to say, four years bothering with thermodynamics, while fluids weren't a daily topic, changed the meaning of the word to me - or rather what its more significant meaning is to me - and in 13 years without any focus on thermodynamics day-to-day life didn't claim back the pole position. But now that I think about it, that might very well be, because the German word Fluid isn't used very much in day-to-day life.

It was only a reply to Fusionpower who also is German,
The makers of the Pyra had they’re reasons to not make it in China,
Dealing whit form actions was a pain, but it’s quite fast to travel to Greek in comparison to China
Also nobody knows if the Pyra would be much quicker out if the it’s got made in China:
Par exemple, the Chinese Government could close the factory because the Opensource Philosophy of the Pyra could harm the integrity of the Peaple Republic of China, or something..
Big companies like Apple don’t have issues, but EvilDragon don’t have a big company..

I also want the Pyra as fast out, my Pandora still works but whit some issues and the Pyra could make things I forgot on this long time of waiting all ready..

I want to run my Emus I know from Pandora, but this time not under full CPU Stress but whit throttled speed, and I want it to be my new Home Office PC

Sorry but my French is quite horrible, that’s the Pay if you only went to a German Speaking Part of French, I’m near Saverne every year for Beekeeping business and at least the Older Peaple speaks and understand German so i didn’t had the chance to improve my French so it’s now maybe gone..
Most of our French Customers also speaks at least a bit German..

The younger generation ditnt learn German in Shools, so maybe it should become quite different in some years, but hopefully I will find some time until then to learn some French

It was not Pyra releated actualy. ;) The crowdfunding for that alternative GPD Win 2 cooling solution just seemd to me like a single person project but he somehow managed to involve professional manufacturing in China for that. Correct me if I'm wrong of course. So you don't need to be a big Company to achive something like that (anymore).

Your statement about Open Source and Chinese Gouvernment confuses me though...

Well, China has improved over the last few years, but it's still a hit-and-miss. They're building most of the smartphones of the world, so yeah, they certainly can do proper stuff. But not every company can.

Quality was not the main reason I didn't want to produce too many parts of the Pyra in China. Wages is one reason, but there's another one:

If you're sitting in Shenzen (like GPD is), you have tons of different companies around the corner which can do anything within a short timeframe. If any issues occur, you can visit them, solve the issue or go to the next company.
That doesn't work if you sit here in Germany.

Imagine the case company would've been in China, not in Greece. Do you think I could've easily visited there to discuss things or even move the moulds if nothing works out?
Nope. I need a visum for that, it's further away, if it ever comes to a lawsuit for some reason, you have NO chance of winning (which is totally different if all companies are located in the EU, etc.).

The reason was NOT Quality. The main reason was: IF we happen to have chosen a company that isn't able to do it properly, there's no easy way to fix it. Followed by the (still) low wages, something I don't like.

BTW:
Here's a quick video I made about the cases, what we tried and what the issues are:

Having injection coming from both nub holes simultaneously should help hide any lines coming from the three buttons in between I'd have thought. They seem to come from the plastic flowing around the button holes then merging on the far side. If liquid plastic is coming from both sides, it should enter both sides of the holes at similar times and meet in the middle, so there's a possibility you'll get a mostly invisible seam running vertically through all of the button holes, but nothing looking like those trails.

But hopefully the heated moulds will allow the plastic to remain fully liquefied as it flows around obstructions, and thus merges again without leaving any lines or other surface features.

I would love to see the glitter in red. I still like the blue despite the flaws. Silver/Stone looks acceptable, so combining that with the other things mentioned should get us there.

Glitter dark red or glitter dark grey ftw.
