The Communication Cube

Wasnt jesus supossed to be death till monday?

nope, died on Friday and rose on Sunday, which is why Christians take Sunday as their holy day (whereas Friday-night to Saturday-night is the Jewish Shabbat).

now, if only we could get Friday off, too, because there's some prayer time for Islam then...

uhh, who's everyone?

in certain Christian-heritage schools in the US, you get thursday or friday off last week (Maundy Thursday -- day that Jesus had the last supper, Good Friday -- day he was crucified), but i don't know of anyone that takes monday off.

@Cerbera: Don't watch those kind of videos. It will give you a false sense of superiority and security. But you are still using Windows as your primary OS, so you are not save either.
Got a lot of Indian colleages. There is a language barrier, some do retain their Indian morals, a bit abhorrent, but they do have brainpower and real skills, at least, the ones getting imported to work locally.
The abhorrent behavior? They think in caste systems and put non-whites in a lower category. So while I make conversation with the cleaning people, and talk to the director from in a casual manner, they suck up to top and give off on lower.
Concrete examples: Using their bicycle bell on pedestrians, on a piece of pedestrian walkway, instead of waiting for a hole to slip through or going around. Getting my knowledge wiki (we Dutch are open with knowledge, because it's the combination of these that is our worth "meerwaarde"). Indians do not share it, so I need to keep sending it to each one of them. Even when the senior goes away, the junior has no idea, and I have to re-train him (without having budget to do so, so it's my own free time). I also saw complete scripts with a new slapped-on header and an Indian getting promoted due to that script that a buddy of mine made... that sort of thing that you see in densely populated areas, like China. For me it feels like backstabbing, for them it's smart business because for every person working, there are 10 waiting in line to take over that work so they are more aggressive in that way. Not cunning though, Dutch are cunning.

The only problem I had was I had to sit through almost a whole video of onion soup recipes before I got the payoff. Well, some of the video at least, because I fast-forwarded through most of it.

I also don't see what this has to do with India or Indians personally. Anyone who cold calls me trying to coerce me to install teamviewer or similar apps is greedy scum, regardless of their nationality.

Anyone who cold calls me trying to coerce me ... is greedy scum
No man. The truth is that there are not enough good jobs in India. So a scum creates a company to let employees call you. These jobs are bring-your-own-laptop and not well payed. So this guy just gets a list of numbers to call.
And maybe he is selfemployed, but bought the phonelist from a ponzi company and needs to make the money back.

Or... you live in a world where every hooker is horny and only want your money; and human trafficking does not exist.

It would have been more meritorious to play those videos from a VM, not from your base OS. Also, all your VM's are powered off. So... what is exactly what you wanted to communicate?

Meh.webp

That VMs need regular rest breaks and feeding, also don't forget to take them to the virtual vet for a check up on occasion. Remember folks a VM is for life not just for Christmas.

Also in other news, I can now swear fluently in Hindi.

The last time I saw OS/2 Warp in the wild was a few years back when one of the local ATMs crashed.

Also the reason that I'm trying out all these random operating systems is because I recently purchased a "new" laptop for cheap off've eBay, and I fancied using something other than Windows or Linux for once.

Working at what used to be an IBM Semiconductor fab, I still see some old machines run OS/2 Warp...
