He wanted to learn, but the obstacles were too big for him to overcome. What was god thinking?

He?

Lol.

Is everything fucked up because man was made in God's image?

Or does man keep on fucking up because he's created God in his own image...

Catch a wake up kids... Take responsibility for your own mess and stop trying to pin the blame on someone / something else.

I mean really...

If God or Source were to have a (symbolic) gender, it would be feminine... Just apply some logic for a moment and I'm sure (or would hope) that it is apparent to you.

But the need to gender stereotype an undefineable limitless state of Being / Consciousness points a big fat finger at one's own insecurity and compulsion to self validate.

The more males (or any gender really) try to prop themselves up and make themselves seem important, the more they advertise their own insecurities and fears.

Oh what a world, what a world...

Hm, I didn't apply a gender on god. I don't think there is a god, for that matter. ;)
With "he" I referred to the pilot, who, of course, could be a she, or a both. (And no, I don't recognize more genders than that.)

It seems a little unfair to laugh at people for failing to be clairvoyant. Plenty of promising new technology has failed to become popular, and almost everything starts out as impractical and unaffordable.

Indeed. Like saying VR, AR and 3D TV are passing fads too. It all depends on how convenient and affordable the technology becomes.
