I have just got used Gp32 (BLU version) and was just wondering if any flash cards were/are available for the device to play backups and homebrew

I am completely new to this device and wanted to check emus and games I missed as I joined the scene during the GP2X days

Thanks

The GP32 takes MMC cards doesn't it? The things that predate even the first SD cards. I can't imagine it's hard to find one these days, although I doubt your cost per GB figure is going to look very good.

The GP32 is very much fun in direct sunlight out in the summer. Look for used cards on ebay - I doubt anyone still manufactures them...
and be prepared to order a MMC card READERas well, too; the GP32-USB-cable, if it´s part of your set, is no more supported nowadays; so you may need a card reader for drag and drop.
With a multi card reader, you can drop homebrew games onto the MMC-card even by the Pandora

Thanks for the advice guys,.

Can you play backups of commercial games (eg. Blue Angelo, Dungeon & Guarder, Her Knights, Little Wizard etc.) this way? or are there any other ways?

The GP32 uses SMC cards not MMC, very different.

They were quite hard to find even back in the day since they went extinct around the same time as the GP32 itself, but Ebay seems to have plenty of reasonable options for both cards and readers.

Ah thanks. Back then my old use for flash cards were my camera and my PDA, and both of those used Compact Flash. I rather despaired at the plethora and fragility of other formats at the time, from MMC to SMC via xd cards and the arrival of the SD card just seemed to be the cherry on the cake until much later.
