Passed the certification!

CONGRATULATIONS! Not much longer, yes?
Also sounding good on the keyboard

Somebody set us up the bomb? No, move ZIG for great justice!

Great news ED. Finally there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel.

Let's just hope it doesn't turn out to be a train.....

;)

As matzesu said above, only 2 Months

...uuuhhaaaa....
...?
Has something happened? I was asleep for...
...
AAAHHH!1! SOMTHING IS HAPPENING!

Congratz on the finished tests (CE & FCC)
:D

BTW: I had a lot of different devices with me at the Gamescom (Gemini, GPD Win 2, GPD Pocket, Pyra).
While most visitors were impressed that the GPD Win 2 can run Gamecube games, the keyboard most of them preferred was Pyras'.

In my opinion, keyboard and cooling could turn out to be Pyra's USP towards the (in terms of power) superior Win2.

Great to hear!

I was there and it was awesome to try them all out, I sure am interested in the GPD Win 2 too, mainly because of the x86 processor and it running Windows.
It was also nice talking to you there and made me decide to be more active again. Rainy Day might not ever happen but there are always other games I could port (working on a little pixel art platformer in C++ now so who knows).

I hope, I'll get my Pyra until end of januar 2019.
But its likely that because of delays, it will be summer till I can put my hands on the Pyra

Im still Opimistic, but to have the Chrismass Vacations to fiddle around whit the Pyra, sounds not that bad..
I would like to have my Pyra better today than tomorow, like every one of us, (including EvilDragon,)

Summer 2019 is much too pesimistic,
I can understand, some peaple expect the worst, and are uberhappy when the nonexpectet good things happen then..

I would say, November 2018, this would fit in the 2 Months pattern..
Mid of next Month, (Oktober) will be the Release of Farming Simulator 2019 on XBOX and other Consoles, so i will be pretty busy then..

Ah, the old until/before mixup. That one's a 'before' because it's something you want to happen in the interval between now and next January. So what you're written kind of implies you'd get your Pyra before then but then have to give it back in January, although the verb is a little wrong for that; it'd be more a possession thing than an obtaining thing, so it'd be written normally using 'have' instead of 'get' if that's what you really meant.

Heh, English is weird, having two words that often need to match where if we just had the one word for before/until we could infer the meaning from the verb used. But unfortunately as it is, when you use the wrong one I read it and have to stop and fix it in my head before I can go on.

I'm happy to report that the Pyra passed both CE and FCC with flying colors :)

Great news! (So some things with the project do proceed happily without any complications!)

I'm working on a burn-in test now (they need to be able to run without any crashes for 5 hours at least)... well, and that should be it.

Hmm... that was more than 24 hours ago. Impatient enquiring minds wonder and worry about how that burn-in test went. :p

Have you had a chance to test yet the workaround for the overvoltage problem that was shutting down the modem? I'm also wondering if you can plug in both charging cables at the same time without mishap?

@EvilDragon: Thanks for all the hard work!

I was waiting for them to get cheaper for years now.
But it seems like they are even getting more expensive and the 1TB SD card is still yet to come.
There is not much interest in those large cards I suppose.

I got a pretty decent deal on amazon years ago, havent seen them that price since!

I'm still holding off on purchasing data cards for my Pyra until I have an actual Pyra.

That said, this is tempting:
Code:

$180 for a 512GB SDXC. Hmm...

$/GB though it is hard to pass up the 200GB SDXC card for $50. I just bought 4 of these for the family's new phones:

I think the operative term in this case might be 'they'. They are an external testing company who will either need new instructions or new hardware possibly. ED needs to build a setup that can run for 5 hours, then book an appointment with them, and wait for them to write up the multipage report.

I wonder if you're planning to do any temperature tests, ED. A lot of us are planning to use our Pyras in all sorts of environments, so it'd be good to know what kind of external temperatures this thing can handle. Mainly I'd like to be reassured that if I take it out in sub-zero temperatures it's not going to croak on me, although I plan to carry it in a protective case inside a leather bag, so it may not get direct exposure unless I actually take it out and use it. I guess that's unlikely, but I may use it on the bus which can be anywhere from low single digits to about 35 degrees inside at different times of the year.

Edit: If they're still selling those 200GB cards, it suggests they're still having yield problems on 256GB wafers, let alone 512GB ones. Unless they're shifting old stock on those 200GB parts I guess.

Edit2: Oh, those 200GB cards are micro-SD parts aren't they. That makes more sense then, I guess. Last time I looked in full-size SD cards, 128GB was the price/GB sweet point, but that was over a year ago I think.
