Gamepark, Gp32 2 (project Name) Coming Soon!

I think the screen size is ideal now, Im not such a fan of touchscreen really...though a standard Snes style button setup would be nice...oh and maybe a tv out as standard.

What I really want is downward compatibility too, watch those older emus running a the proverbial off a shovel

Yes it´s real! Mwoehahahahahahah!
as you can see from this brilliant oncept desing, it can play Rogue Leader (this a commercial game avilable for the GP33 (new name) not an emulated game

I think it would be pretty good if they could get the minor details sorted too...

...like having the speakers the right way round

Did they fix that on the BLUs BTW?
Yes, they did :).

Talking of speakers, The ones on the GP32 are just a little bit weedy when watching a movie with a friend or two. So, Wouldn`t it be nice to have some big fat 40 inch speakers and a subwoofer. Mmmmmm cinema sound here we come.

Here's my hopes and prayers:
-processor: at least 312MHz Intel XScale chip
-memory: at least 64MB RAM.. maybe pull a Zodiac, and offer both a 64MB model and a 128MB model?
-As for as the screen goes, yes, a VGA (640x480) would be beautiful, but that's going to cost something fierce. Touchscreen? Go buy a PalmPilot.
-media: I think we can all agree that SmartMedia is not the best choice at the moment. CompactFlash would be beautiful: can you imagine a 4GB Microdrive full of.. well.. ANYthing? MMC/SD would also work, seeing as how someone just released a 4GB MMC.. XDDDD
-controls: An analog stick would be nice. Very nice. But I think that might be a bit overkill. A nice NGPC-clickstick, four face buttons, a couple shoulder buttons, and Start/Select would, I think, be fine.
-And, well.. just make it cost under $250, OK, guys? :p

And may I say this: good luck, Gamepark. We're all counting on you.

And make that f***er opensource. Otherwise, you've screwed the pooch.

mine would look a bit different..
-processor bakcward compatible arm chip 200 - 350 Mhz
-Memory 32MB up to 64.. i would hate it if there were different version of gp32, with more ram...
-screen 320x240.. yes i think we dont need more.. it should be still small.. but a touchscreen would be nice still i dont need it
-media something like sd cards they are small and not that expensive.. and go up to 1GB
-controls SNES button layout.. i would like and the control stick like on the gameboy..

EXTRAs: a small GPU, but not if its not really worth it.. and i just have to pay more for it

So we need/want:
  • Backwards compatability
  • At least 64mb RAM
  • widescreen (well, not needed, but it would be nice wouldn't it? 640x360!)
  • CF cards. I know there's a lot of animostiy over them, but they're cheap, widespread, and if it supports CFtypeII then we have a theoretical capacity limit of 12gb (the largest card on the market) Plus It could interact with all the CF interface devices, like WiFi, bluetooth, IDE adaptors, etc
  • EXTRA BUTTONS!!
  • A GPU, and possibly an MP3 decoding SPU to alleviate the CPU
  • Maybe, just maybe: a large (128-256mb) RAM dump, so before a program runs the entire thing is dumped to an expanse of RAM. Possible even the wholke card so it can be removed and a new one put in. Though copying the entire card wouldn't have that much use.
  • External controller port

i think we should stay realistic.
  • more ram (64+)
  • 320x240+ (but please standard resolutions. nothing wicked like 640x300)
  • better memory cards
  • extra buttons. (snes style?)
  • more mhz (don't want to write a specific value coz that can change fast)
  • gpu
  • sound chip
  • backwards compatibility or easy to port

Next GP32 will be will be "open source" as Gp32 but somehow even better. GP32 is an open source by an accident actually because somehow guys at Gamepark didn't have especially idea about so called "gp32 scene". I've talked a few hours with Gamepark CEO, and he was making really "big eyes" when I mentioned about some of the "scene" productions (emulators, alternative firmware, utilities and stuff :). Anyway, next GP32 (by the way, GP32X as a name sounds great ;) is made with "open source" in mind and it will be really piece of impressive hardware.

Do you know this for sure? I don't doubt you, but I'd like to clarify if this is just your personal wants for the system or actual fact.

Actually to tell the truth I even know the specification for the next console

Also, please PM me the details...I won't tell anyone! :D

Lol I figured they would have been fairly ignorant. And GP32X sounds like a good name... as long as they dont put xtreme on the end, cause consoles shouldnt be named like that lol.

i think gp32x isn't enough namechange for the next generation. i've got the feeling it will be a bigger jump than gba->gbasp
