Nice. I would use that in the car, to drive in front of other cars and tell them why I think they are [unflattering words] (for not using the blinker lights, braking for no apparent reason, cutting off, using the phone while barely holding the steering wheel, having dead brake lights...etc.). Small Pyra app that does send the text...

Sounds good to me. I can't do the messages (I might get shot). But that combo could be fun. Pyra DS (along with other things we have said could give a second screen).

No idea why that handheld needs a d-pad and two action buttons - pacman is purely directional, pac-panic has rotate and drop (but the latter could well be on d-pad down, I've not checked) and pacmania is just directional and jump. Maybe it's more for the menus though.

It's possible they're planning to release a bunch more of these little things and have added the extra button to save costs at the factory..

It's a shame as once they've stopped being used they'll probably be dumped. Perhaps someone will hack them and make a cool little emulator platform ;)

True, but it's quite common for manufacturers to blank off buttons they're not actually using, usually using vinyl which covers over the unused holes.

I quite like the handheld device, but I am something a fan of this luminous yellow colour. But I dunno what this could actually play if hacked, and while two action buttons is too much for any Namcot games I can think of, it's not enough for many Williams games, even defender is better if you don't have to use the left/right positions on the d-pad and have enough action buttons for shoot, thrust, reverse and smart bomb I find, and you've no chance of playing Robotron on it.

The hand-held is supposedly available now but haven't seen it for sale anywhere.

I thought I was the only one who couldn't get more info on the hand-held. Anyone here got a chance to see/get it ?

Oh, Gamester81's still about! I remember his Pandora review from back in the day.

And duh, it's not the original rom. It's in landscape! And yeah, the Pacmania theme tune through that tinny speaker doesn't sound good at all.
