Fitlet2 - tiny Compulab industrial fanless x86 computers


I have a Trimslice Pro, a Utilite Pro, an IntensePC Pro, a uSVR (stuffed it full of SSDs--that was expensive), and a fit-PC4 Pro...
I wanted an Airtop, but I don't know what I'd do with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The only problem with Compulab products is the noise. All them them squeak and squeal and tick--my uSVR sounds like it has actual hard drives in it.

Noise? My Fitlet2 computers are dead silent... no moving parts. That is also the point to the Airtop. I'm not familiar with the other products you listed. I take it those have fans &/or spinning media?

All of them are 100% solid state, but I guess their power supply designs aren't that well thought out. The loudest systems are the ones that use the most power (i7 in the uSVR and IntensePC, I can hear those halfway across the room).
 
thought i'd post here:

the inferno rewards currently at $1600 without the GPU, RAM, or storage;
goes up to $2330 for the GPU but no RAM or storage.

yikers, i thought i had to save up a while for the pyra. will keep an eye on fanlesstech.com for other smaller, cheaper devices. especially interested in any future AMD offerings as i've supported intel too much...
 
Given that the UK is suffering the cold and the boiler at my work is broken - this would be really handy to have in the office right now :)

I understand how you got to that conclusion. But, if you think about it, this compared directly to a 'normal' computer with the same electronics in it plus fans would put fractionally more heat into the room than the Airtop2 Inferno. That difference would be the energy to drive the fans being converted to heat. Otherwise the net power footprint should be the same. Just different ways of shedding it - passive radiators vs active.
