Pandora on the eevblog?!

Actually, it's a 1GHz edition - those have the rebirth sticker and an additional blue 1GHz sticker, like mine and now Dave's there.

It looks in better state than mine which I've ended up butchering off the LCD connector after I broke it and shorted out something system critical. Also, I broke the power switch, so these days mine is on but idle 90% of the time and gets recharged about every other day.

The EEVblog video rss feed hasn't had an update for 10 days now. I'll have to remember not to rewatch that one as I ended up watching pretty much all of it.

I had just been showing one of mine around again to a few peeps, and still using it for Audacious quite a bit. So had the thing in my hand, and flip on eevblog and wham! ... eevblog is a a huge influence in the electronics nerd community, and one of the few YTs I watch regularly, so it was a heck of a thing for me ... but really I hope it points at least a few people to look into things more, and maybe generates some interest in the Pyra :)

I keep worrying my batteries will puff out or go bad, but still performing pretty well. Its done well, the Pandora :)

I do not make a habit of reading youtube comments, but in this case I decided to check for Pyra mentions.
The Pandora lived a full life, and its maker and community has been feverishly working on the follow up -- the Pyra; the Pyra preorders happened (maybe still open), and an expected ship date in 2017.

This is misinformation in my opinion. We are still fixing issues, a shipping date in 2017 is not feasible.

Based on the tenor of that quote, it's fairly safe to say whoever left it wasn't sure if their information was accurate - claiming preorders "maybe still open" (they definitely are) and the ship date of 2017 (not happening, but almost certainly happening not too far off, with mold mass production underway and the new motherboard revision solving the memory voltage issues which was the last real showstopper - and once that's good, those can then get mass produced themselves).

Nothing that anyone from those videos couldn't come and find out here themselves - and frankly, the more technically-inclined viewers who'd watch eevblog would likely understand full well that designing electronics is some seriously hard work.

Edit: I second what DarkPulse said above, basically.

It's outdated information. Given the commenter is not sure whether preorders are still running suggests he's not up to date with this community, and a few months ago many of us might have predicted there was a possibility it'd be done before Christmas. It could do with a comment updating the information, if any of you have a youtube account, but it's not straight up misinformation I'd say.

Did I write 2017? I will go back and edit the comment. It was 1 or 2 in the morning, and that'd be a fatfinger .. 2018 was what I typed in my head :)

I just wanted to jump in and get the mention in, so people would go hit the Pyra site.

edit: Caine -- yeah, I don't have the time to keep on top anymore (sigh; the heart is there, but RL is in the way ;); I may be quiet now, but I keep tabs still!

edit: More recent comments have pointed out the info I think, so thats good; as always, community for the win :)

Wow... that Pandora looks new. Mine is so old and broken, but still going strong...
