Shortest newspost ever... for now!

So... Sadly no pictures of the production today, as FormAction was already finished with it when we arrived (yes, seriously!)

I'm now sitting at the airport waiting for my flight (which leaves at Gate 13... That's a good sign, right?)
At least they are trying to keep your business. Kinda sucks that it had to come down to this, though.

13 isn't a bad number, and is a common "lucky number" despite the reputation it developed over the last several centuries (see JustSimon's post), since the thing with the Templars. I think I read somewhere that long before that it was considered auspicious (in ancient Greek culture, I believe, which is what I have been looking into lately). Perhaps it is a sign that everything will work out great with the cases from now on, if you believe such things. So, to answer your question, yes, it is a good sign, if you take it that way.

Gate 4? If you were in Japan, that would be a sure sign that things are about to go wrong.
What about buildings over 3 stories high?

Apparently they skip a number. The picture below is supposedly from China, which does the same.

I think I have heard of that, now that you show it. Just like the lack of a 13th floor in some places, which I was obviously comparing it to.

Anyone else notice the odd face under the 6 button?

Looking forward to ED's short final update, when he has a bit of time available (no rush). Personally, I am more interested in reading "500 clear Pyra cases have been made on time, and shipped, with tracking number".

At least it's not gate 2(months)™
Have a safe and relaxing flight.

I've worked in buildings in the past (in London) that didn't have a floor 3+1 or a floor 14-1. But it did have a floor G (or Ground) since it was in the UK.

As ED doesn't have anyone who does the work in the shop when he is on "holiday" in greece, i think he has enough to do for the rest of the week...

If you are answering me I think you have interpreted me very badly. Read again and try again (if you want).

I will pay more attention. In the buildings I have frequented there was a 4th floor.

G (or L for lobby) is common over here, and sometimes there are a few Bs (Basement level 1 through whatever). Maybe I will build a structure that has 4 floors: B, G, 4 and 13. :D

Why not just label floors some other way, such as with an alphabet, or binary? "Oh, that's on floor ASS."

The main reason for this (both in China and Japan) is that the character for "Death" (死) and the character for "Four" (四) can both be pronounced the same way - "Shi" in Japanese and "Si" in Chinese. In both cultures, the number four is thus generally considered bad luck and avoided. It's why in genres like J-Horror if you ever see the fourth floor, or a fourth victim, or a fourth, well, anything, you can be pretty sure something evil's going to happen shortly.

The Japanese get around this by having 四 also able to be pronounced as "Yon" but despite that they still generally try to avoid the number four. Not sure about Chinese, but I'm pretty sure they got something like that too.

"Floor Ass" sounds like a bad indie post-rock/grunge band.

It was based on a common set of initials that I and many others used when achieving a high score on arcade games.
