Pandoralive Down?

Since the site has nothing to do with these forums anymore, the link to it should be removed from Community Sites menu.

There's a lot more linking this site to pandoralive.info than that static link though - plenty of posts refer to pandoralive articles, even stickied posts in various places. It's probably time to start pulling the content off archive-dot-org backups of the old site and sticking them on one of our wikis or something, I reckon.

Unfortunately I tried, doesn't seem like there's any way of doing it due to robots.txt

FWIW, since I own the copyright to my old pandora keyboard review I wrote that went up on the site, I hereby grant anyone the right to use it as they wish, but I don't think that anyone linked it from here, and probably nobody needs to read that again ;)

@ekianjo
Your Site was very good.
Maybe you can give ED the Files for a Mirror of this Site?

The Way your Articles was written are very fine...
..and the Pictures of the Cosplayers to this Thematics where wonderfull.

I will miss your Site and maybe when EvilDragon Mirror it...
..maybe we have a Chance to add Articles manualy by the Community here?

You see there a still some more People who miss this Site and your perfectly Work.

We do understand when you dont want to work more on it.
Its a Hobby and most of us do not have enough Time in the Life for Hobbys.

Do you realy want that all Informations of your Site Die?
All your hard work for us all and now the Site is gone?
You cannot be realy satified with that, right?

Maybe when you give EvilDragon the Files and he make a Mirror of your Site...
...maybe your Child grow little bit more with Articles from the Community.

Example:
There are Many Games we can review,
..some new Howtows and new Informations about the Pyra too.

Please let it not die totaly what you have done for us.

My Youtube Account is for the Pyra too and i will Change the Theme of it when the Pyra is out.
A Hdmi Grabber is bought and @ home for capturing Videos from the Pyra soon.

You had done great Work with your Pandoralive Site :D

While I can understand that one can be frustrated when things take longer than expected, I certainly can not understand why someone would NOT like to have an old site archived somewhere when he decided to close everything down and delete it.

That's the total opposite of any open project idea.

Just imagine ptitSeb deleting all his repo stuff and actively hunting anyone trying to mirror any of his PNDs...

Well, difference is that ptitSeb mostly ports games with GPL licenses... so he doesn't "own" them (but he still wouldn't do something like that).
No idea what the license was on ekianjos site... did it say something?

Things are taking way too long honestly. I was excited 2 years ago, still excited last year, but when stuff is said to be "99% done" for 2 years in a row and yet nothing ships, I lose interest. I'll wake up again when something is ACTUALLY available.

Most of us are used to this from the Pandora. ED has been a lot less loose about promises than we got back when we were waiting for the Pandora, which I believe has generally allowed most of us to view the wait with a positive light. I understand if you choose to wait for an actual release; Even I only check the forums every once in a while to see if the device is any closer to completion.

you have absolutely no right to reprint any of these articles wthout my authorization.

While that may be true, you worded that a bit harshly. Saying it that way is only going to hurt your public image.

Unless I missed something, ekianjo hasn't deleted anything, but is just not currently paying for the domain name. (and/or currently hosting the files on a server?) He hasn't deleted anything and has even expressed an interest in bringing Pandoralive, old articles and all, back once the Pyra releases. Let's not criticize him for something he hasn't actually done.

It's not that different as many articles on pandoralive were not written by ekinajo.
For instance I wrote an article about my Slackware port.
Here's the original paper, english and french pdf files.

Can you guys stop with the Strawmans a second?
I have already said I am going to relaunch Pandoralive in the near future. I have never DELETED the website, I just did not have access to the domain name anymore. This, I have already clarified before, see my posts on the matter. So, nothing is closed and nothing is deleted, the access via pandoralive.info is just not working anymore, that is all.

yes it did say that I have copyright for everything I have ever written, and of course the authors who wrote their own articles (such as My Day with the pandora and other guest pieces) of course own their copyrights on their work as well, unless they decide to release it on another license. That is why I have always mentioned when an article was written by someone else than me.

It's not that different as many articles on pandoralive were not written by ekinajo.

Define Many? I can guarantee you that more than 90%, if not 95% were written by me only. So you should say "a minority of articles were not written by ekianjo" if you want to reflect the reality.

While that may be true, you worded that a bit harshly. Saying it that way is only going to hurt your public image.

I just merely stated a fact. Nobody has any right to publish something that is under copyright, except under express authorization. I have been spending a lot of my free time (not compensated in any way) to run Pandoralive, so the least people here can do is acknowledge that Pandoralive is not their property (except for the articles I have not written, as stated before).

You cannot be realy satified with that, right?

As mentioned before, the site is still alive, you just don't have access to it at the moment. I am not sure why there is SO MUCH outrage going on, when I stopped working on it and mentioned that I need a hand if you want to keep the site alive, nobody stepped up to contribute in any way (a few people did but did not follow up anyway). There were ample warnings that I had no time to work on it anymore, so the fact that the site was at risk of not being accessible at some point was very clear (I pay for hosting and domain name, and there are no ads on Pandoralive). So what is happening now should be no surprise to anyone.

Now, this being said, I am doing what I can to bring it back online "at some point in the future", so please be patient just like you are all patient with ED.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up.
I wasn't sure now, it sounded like the domain got lost and you didn't want the content to come back online again.

That's way better now :)

If you're still hosting it somewhere, can you let us know the ip address, so I can look up some old info and enjoy reading some old articles? Assuming it's not on some virtual host that needs you to to send the right headers to get the right site back.
