GOG.com

Cool, a separate free little game instead of a demo to advertise a serie, I like this

I don't know... seems to me this additional content is generating too much hate for what it is...
it's not required to play, and still you are able to add by yourself your images to the game, so nothing was deliberately crippled...

This is just some extra graphic they made that doesn't ruin anything, but still required time and resources to be done...

Next-Gen is today

Actually it resemble to me the 1999 situation (or maybe a little 2005)... you have the fully completed original game, very appreciated as I see from the rewiews, then they added content, and the hell broke loose...

Look around for what you can get for $4 and less:

I don't mind how much it costs, that's not the point, the point is that it is not a game changer, it's not required to play it... also, we all know how gog works, there are always sales...

(And if someone has time to spend, can also print-screen, cut those portraits and put them in the game anyway...)

Usually artwork is done long before the rest of the game is finished. In those cases it's not uncommon to have a graphic design department work on additional stuff. Think additional skins for your heroes. Nobody rages about skins. And I don't quite get what's outrageous or laughable about this case here. If those pics are not worth 4 Dollars to you, do not pay for them. It's not like the game is lacking those.
