Release NetSurf

Ok. I figured that all I had to do was empty it. Is it possible to implement the keyboard shortcuts that I requested or not?

I haven't looked at the tab switching shortcut. I'll try to have a look (but later), in the mean time, you should ask to upstream if they can add that (maybe it's already implemented, I haven't looked at all).

How are you able to do that? The reply box doesn't show up for me when running it on the Pandora.

Replying fron latest NetSirf from the Pandora.

And now using the reply button, still from the Pandora (I do have codeblocks mounted, maybe it helps).

EDIT: I edited my post also...

I disabled Javascript which is now allowing the basic text box to show.

2. Is it possible to assign keyboard commands to switching between the tab on the left and right side of the currently selected one?
Not sure about custom assignments, but if this Netsurf build behaves like the netsurf-gtk build in Debian then you can switch tabs with Ctrl + Cursor left/right.

Just tested the new build, duckduckgo search lets me jump to my favourite searches using ! (e.g !wiki for wikipedia), and is working fine thanks!

Also, I'm fine with the smaller fonts (it only affects the toolbars and status bar, right?)

Furthermore, slightly surprisingly, the text box here displays with a caret, unlike using netsurf on my arch laptop, so is even more usable.

It works since this is a port of the GTK interface and backend for NetSurf. So, maybe Ctrl+Left/Right could be replaced with 1/2 in its source code.

EDIT: The file containing the keyboard shortcuts is in the source under the name of FatMessages and is located in the resources folder.

EDIT2: Please consider adding the Flash plugin to it.

Here is NetSurf, a lightweight Web browser coming from RiscOS
preview1.png

Not much to say. This version doesn't include Video support with gst-streamer. I may try to add it, but the point here was to keep it as lightweight as possible.

History log
=========

Build 02
-------------

  • Reduced GUI font size
  • SearchEngines are now selectable
Build 01
-------------

  • Initial build

This is by far the best web browser I've used on Pandora. The othes are all unusuably slow, imo. even on 1ghz. Thanks for this great port!!

I tried changing the Prev/Next Tab keyboard shortcut in the FatMessages file that is in the pandora\appdata\netsurf\home\netsurf folder manually. It is still using the default shortcut because of the resources.tgz in the PND though.

That resources.tgz is just part of the packaging, not part of NetSurf install. It's decompressed to appdata/netsurf/home/netsurf if the folder doesn't exist and that'all.

Oh, so the issue is something else then. Maybe its compiled as part of the program.

EDIT: It is used when compiling the program according to a person in its IRC chatroom (which is #netsurf on irc.freenode.net).

Hi all :)

@ptitSeb: minor bug report:

Could you please have a look at your icon.png file ? There's some white line on the right of the image. It's really visible when the icon is on the desktop.

Cheers, Magic Sam (posting from NetSurf ;) )

I can confirm that the icon has a line on its right-hand side when its displaying on the desktop.

Anyone know why the youtube error panels that appear (because I'm not running javascript/flash) appear to be in Russian, or some cyrillic language anyway? I'm not configured to use a tunnel/proxy or a VPN. It doesn't affect anything much, but it's a bit strange.
