PGS Windows 10 gaming handheld - GPD WIN competitor

I don't think the new site allows charging until you're ready to ship. So maybe they really are just using it to ensure sales will be there later.

I still wouldn't trust it. Who knows if they'll really ship (or ship the promised thing) after saying they are.

Hmm, so the PGS is going to include an overclocked AMD chip then?

Also, IrDA? That's a blast from the past for sure. I want a 5.25in floppy drive in mine, please.

These amazing new and added features are only possible thanks to the incredible and most exemplary powerful cancer-curing expertise and revelatory work of senior designer Mr. Mursalov. He came back to us after 40 days and nights being locked in a container, and today returned to show us, deep in his worship on our hands and knees, his latest findings. His Vuvuzela-like voice boomed before us: "I have added....a third screen to the right side edge of our PGS! Now people can play Snakes while they're playing Crysis 3 while they're playing E-ink Soduko while they're getting a massage from our patented vibro module while flipping a few channels with the IrDA blaster. Initiate the preorders! Warm up trycelery!"

No PayPal? Yikes.
You can buy store vouchers with paypal.

Bluff called -> folded
I don't think so. For the believers, if there are any that werent recruited, they ended it after their claim that "all will be revealed". By ending it and saying "see, we REALLY don't need your money, but to make sure we do things right, without all that noise coming from those who want to destroy us, we will allow you to still join us in our revolution". Plenty of misdirection, didn't need to reveal anything, and most of the attention isn't on the fact that they didn't reveal anything. If anything has changed with the true believers, I suspect it is that they feel more a part of the team now, and they also didn't notice the sleight of mind. This is one of the best things they could have done to build their support while cutting off those they don't want around. Will they still be collecting money over the upcoming months?

I have never been against them, I just wanted proof that this was anything more than fun ideas and a bunch of words. Throwing products manufactured by others into a printed case shows nothing, as one off customization does not prove an idea can be manufactured (at that price). I wish them the best, but I trust them much less than I did in my highly skeptical position before.

What? Cancelled? Damn it! It was fun...not as fun as smack Z, but fun none the less.
Let´s just hope the next season of "the impossible handheld" doesn´t take too long to crop up.
At the end they did a gag on the "I will be back" with the added bonus of having a self crowd fund stuff, like the procedural mighty Oton...

But seriously, you don´t get this kind of entertainment even if you pay for the show.
Maybe I should donate something for the great super fun time they delivered.

Here is an interesting hypothesis:

Here's my guess: Some or all of the first $100k was their own money via fake backers and funding was dropping to the point that the profits after Kickstarter takes their cut wouldn't be worth it.

I don't buy that. As far as I could tell they were still getting new backers at fairly close to the rate they were loosing them. If they hadn't been the total would have dropped a lot faster. (even at the end they still had just over $300000 in pledges)

I'm curious if they are actually taking money on the new site or just orders like Exophase suggested. If it's the latter then I'm tempted to believe that they are sincere in their ambitions, and just extremely clueless when it comes to execution...

Does this mean I don't have to act like a PGS supporter anymore?

I'm not so sure:

So the preorders on the site pay for products when shipping or pay upfront?

I'm not so sure:

That's odd because Celery's FAQ (https://www.trycelery.com/faq) makes a big deal about delayed charging, even suggesting that it's necessary to comply with US federal regulations. Kind of messed up if they say all that but still go ahead and offer the alternative anyway, but I guess it doesn't explicitly say anywhere that they don't. Nowhere I can find anyway.

I suppose it's possible PGS wasn't even aware of what's going on with the site but that's pretty unlikely.

If this is really the case then it once again blows any claims of having an investor that can fund everything out of the water. Nobody should accept this.

BTW, the pre-order button on the blog page, the one they link from their Twitter, still links to the defunct Gumroad page. Very sloppy.

To me it seems PGS (Nadir?) is as clueless as usual, and did not realize that they (he?) can't setup a preorder on those sites. It's likely that Gumroad shut them down once they realized it was a preorder/crowdfunding attempt.

I wouldn't be surprised if their trycelery page gets cancelled as well. I mean PGS scores 5/5 according to this blog post:

I have to disagree, it is just totally impossible to be sincere on an ambition that one is clueless about its execution while you are asking money upfront to execute it.
This World is made of actions.

Reading about the KREYOS fiasco I am actually starting to wonder if PGS has "investors" who are promising to do all the substantial work themselves.

Look at the very bottom of http://pgslab.com/, he is currently setting up his own pre-order system with upfront payment and it's likely that trycelery will take it down too since PGS checks 5 of the 5 red flags for scams as stated by trycelery itself. Makes me wonder why they allowed it in the first place.
He is desperately trying to get the money he supposedly doesn't need thanks to the magical anonymous investor.

Bluff called -> folded
I don't think so.
People were asking for the real team, information about the investors and all the contradictions time and again and they always responded with distractions, then a big update revealing all the information which is demanded and makes them trustworthy all of a sudden is announced for yesterday only to cancel it with exactly this update. It is the prime example of a called and folded bluff.

Precisely this. If this doesn't send up the biggest red flag of all for you, then you sort of deserve to be scammed...

If you guys are referring to the Pre-Order Coming Soon at the bottom of the page. It has always said that. ie , it does not mean they are setting up their own pre-order page.

Unless you were referring to something else?

Yes, Nadir's own comment:

After the release the device will become available on such stores as Amazon and Gearbest. The price for Hardcore version will start from 360$. This is higher than the Kickstarter price, so to make it fair we are opening the preorder system on pgslab.com Preorder price is 299$. During a month since today you will be able to use a promo code "hardcore". Having entered it on the payment page, you will get an additional discount of 40$ (resulting price would be 259$).

That may be how you see it. To me it looks like they pushed everything from the table on the floor, blamed it on the wind because the person that hosted the game left the window open, and said that everyone that wants a good game should leave with them and play at their place since there are so many in the current game that are dragging it down.

We are the wind and the unnamed players dragging the game down (by calling him out for using someone else's chips, and possibly straight up cheating).

I was going to take a look and try to help you out, but their site seems to hate mobile users, which I had forgotten about from months ago.

@Klumpen
Nadir is referring to the pre-order link on the pgslab.com page. The link that takes you to the 3rd party pre-order site.
