Colorful week

if you are talking about Saturday and Sunday as the ends of the week shouldnt it grammatically be weeks end? ie the end belongs to the week? weekends is technically the plural of weekend......
Gramatically, that should be week's end, but never mind. You're right, weekends is a plural.

Annoying that the other colours got stuck in the post. Hope they turn up soon. I wonder what colours ED actually did get?

You have strange working hours. Afraid of the sun?

--> in 5h it is more or less midnight in germany

I'd do the same. Unfortunately, I don't have a wife at home, but a boss at work. What a waste of nights, sigh.

I hope you realise you've just given the second best argument today for EvilDragon not to post anything tonight.
Thank you for that. One of the selling points for the Pyra is fair working conditions, at least in the last part of the production chain.
I don't mean to impose my prejudices or narrow timetables to anyone, but night is for joy and rest. Computers can always wait.

To me fair working conditions would include being allowed to work at night, since I can better concentrate at night - given that I got up not before noon. ;) But my boss demands of me to do my work between nine am and five pm - something about customers and support or something.

I'm sure your boss has his or her own reasons for that. But I never meant to tell anyone what he or she should concentrate on at night: joy, rest or work. Joy and work are not even always incompatible. You're right, it's fair to work at night if you want to. My problem was more the total number of hours per day. But even that I don't know.

Did he actually ask the customers whether those are their preferred times?

Some might have us being available a bit earlier, but thise are covered by a colleague, who prefers to start early. Maybe some would rather have it later, but there's no one I know of, who'd prefer night times. Which is only one more reason, why I'd prefer working at night. ;) Creating something while being disturbed all the time is quite demanding and lessens productivity a lot.

Yes, that's why I love asynchronous communication. Everyone can write and send what they need to when they need to and move on to something else until they get an answer, but that does not mean others have to leave what they do to answer at that instant. There are moments at work when you either are not so creative or can use some proding as to where to apply your potential creativity. And that's a fine time to answer asynchronous input. But whenever you are in the middle of creating stuff interruptions are nasty.
Good night here.

A second solution would be to use Samsung RAM chips. They have a neat 4GB solutions using dual-channel 2GB chips.
You probably mean dual-rank 1GB (K4B8G1646Q or K4B8G1646D) chips, i.e. two 512MB dies per package, four of which would be on the cpu board. Single-rank 1GB DDR3 chips are indeed fairly new and still a bit rare/expensive. Funny that dual-rank seems to be officially supported in the OMAP5, TI has defeatured it in nearly all other SoCs of theirs.
Those require additional wiring to the SoC, so we thought at first we'd need a new CPU board for those... but then Nikolaus found out that he actually DID that wiring just in case (he just forgot about it, as that was over a year ago).
Yay for just-in-case wiring! But if dual-rank indeed works that means we could actually have 4 x 2 GB of ram in total! *ducks and runs for cover* ;-)

That's just cruel...
