I cracked the screen on my first batch pandora and raised an RMA early in January.  In the meantime, Craig sent that email saying they'd take my old Pandora back and replace it with a 1ghz unit for $349 so I replied to that email saying I'd take them up on the offer seeing as I had to send my Pandora back anyway due to my broken screen.  I explained about the damaged screen but they said it was ok, I could still upgrade

However, they sent me a link to EDs shop with his upgrade options, which:

a) Says they only replace the PCB (not the the full unit which is not what the email says)

B) Says they only take fully working units (again, not what the email said).

c) Costs €330 which is about £70 more than the $349 quoted in the email.

So I've decided to withdraw my interest in upgrading.  But I still need my screen replacing.

The status of my original RMA is still 'open'.  How long does it take for them to look at it?

Also has anyone had their screen replaced?  How much does it cost?

Cheers

a) Well, usually it doesn't make sense including a new LCD if the old one is still fine :)

B) I'm not sure why he offered to replace it fully... but usually, we only take working units. I could offer you a used (but 100% working screen) as replacement in that case.

c) Well, add 19% VAT to the $349, and you got the higher price. We can't do much about taxes. Craig doesn't mention for some reason that his prices are without VAT, and if you're living within the EU, you have to pay them. You don't need to pay them when you're living outside of the EU.

Usually, an RMA is handled within a few days.

Grab the RMA Sheet here:

Send the unit back to:

OpenPandora GmbH

Schäffbräustr. 11

85049 Ingolstadt

Germany

The price for an LCD would be 85 EUR (incl. 19% VAT).

I'd do the repair for these costs (so you'd only pay for the LCD.

I was wondering on this too...  The complete trade old for new deal.  I had already done my upgrade when I got my email directing me to your website for the upgrade which does not offer the complete swap out that craigx offered.... My screen was fine anyway....  was going through you regardless of where the email sent me :)    Keep the faith ED
