FOSDEM: Who's going?

For those interested in the games devroom: I created an (initial) schedule which is likely to be the final one, too. In this one ED will have his talk from 9:30 till 10:30. I will just copy the bio (adjusting EDs age slightly), title and abstract from last years talk.

@ED: please notify me ASAP if you can't hold this talk since you might not make it to FOSDEM 2013.

Full schedule: https://lists.fosdem.org/pipermail/open-source-gamedev-devroom/2013-January/000052.html

No ED?
When ED okay'd holding a talk he mentioned that it still depends on him getting a table where he can present the pandora. Until it is sure that he has a space to sit in the hallways it is not 100% sure if ED will be at FOSDEM. If ED is not at FOSDEM he will not hold a talk. Thus my request for him to notify me in case things change.

Well I really wanted to go.. My work load for the next couple months is crazy and I can't justify taking a day off.. Perhaps next year or maybe another event.

However the travel money will most likely go to a 1Ghz Pandora instead..

Well, we should catch up at the local pub for a beer and some Pandora geekery now that we're practically neighbors.

^ Sounds like a good plan to me.

Worst about last year was the traffic chaos happening right on the friday because there was 1cm snow... The temperatures were not below -5° though! Honestly, how they are not able to handle 1cm of snow is insame... complete chaos... The roadtrip from close to Dortmund to the town center of Brussels usually takes me 3h, last year it took lovely 7.5h.

Wish I could go ... But I'm here in Oregon :( . Not a bad thing when you are a tree fan like me , but bad when you want to go listen to EvilDragon speak and laugh at people who had to many Belgian Beers . you people ( male , female , other ) better get video . Nothing less than 720 P either .

Belgian railway is getting privatized, they are trying to become profitable by making cuts in maintenance, so now you get huge delays because of 1mm of snow. But it looks like this winter is going to be really mild, e.g. it is +8 degrees today, and in a month it shouldn't be colder.

Uhm, this one 1cm of snow was bringing car traffic to a halt, too (i was getting to brussels by car...).

Here in England, we're experts in putting the Noooooooo! back into 'Snow'.

Some people will refuse to go to work/school if there's a heavy frost!
