Comments on a pandora from the non-nerd crowd

Well the price can be lowered if enough people would buy one. I think KS is the way to go. Make stretch goals. Initial costs: 450$. If its over 10K make it 400$. If its over 100K make it 300$. The goal can be realised in a cashback if KS supports it.

Pay 450$ dollar, get 150$ back if it reaches 100K bids. This will attract a lot of people for sure.

As soon as I figure out how to get my MK802 MiniPC hooked up to the Pandora as an expansion accessory whereby I can use both devices co-simultaneously as a god-like man'o-war Unit, I'll whip the whole sticky rig out at the nearest nerd gathering, loudly pronounce "Mooh-haa-haa!", hold the rig in the air and wait for the Applause.

Also, people just think its a ripoff Nintendo.

However! I have had one person tell me they thought it was a fancy remote control unit like this thing:

But I suppose thats because I've been hanging out with a lot of RC nerds IRL, too, I guess ..

The pandora would probably make the ultimate remote control, given a few hardware hacks :)

Why hasn't this been done already?

Actually I created I thread awhile back about using the pandora to control a 1/10 scale helicopter .

And yeah I never got to controlling my BT RC Car with the pandora... but since I can do that from any linux laptop with bluetooth (and my s60 phone) and my pandora is (now) nubless, ... meh. Might do it to test how it drives with the pandora d-pad - it is a lot better than arrows on a keyboard i think.

I was planning on using mine to control a few uav designs I had laying around. Will wait instead for the P2.

^^ actually you see a buddy came up

with a few ( theroritical ) hacks for a 1/10 scale helicopter and I said if ( and I mean if ... ) we ever did it I have this boss piece of tech that would be perfect .

My recollected impressions are mostly the same as Binkys with the addition of people knowing what Linux is like and not liking the nerdy needs it conveys. They like the desktop, but would like it to be easier. (mostly Windows)

I've got no weird looks from professors, since they notice right away that I'm taking notes and not playing or messaging on it (I'm amazed at them).
